yea, Kurt's been through some seriously f-ed up things in his life. Stuff i wouldn't wish upon anyone. He is a super nice guy, always encouraging beginners and kids, and definitely throws it down harder than most guys half his age.

He bounced back after being airlifted, and rode strong for a while.. but then crashed again, and I haven't seen him in a while.
I heard he's doing ok though, and is out riding other things.. probably hasn't worked up to coming back to the jumps just yet, which is very respectable and understandable at his age.

    Wow this thread is old...

Not to stir the pot, but it's like sacrilege to even disclose the name of a trail in SoCal, yet its ok to list step by step directions to this trail? I could see it being ok if it were a XC trail, but this place can and does eat people alive. Last thing we need is someone hitting this stuff before they're ready... get air lifted and then we all lose this gem. I think is should be more hush hush... like the way "west texas" is...

Why do people always have to cry about directions being posted. I can search online in less the 20 results find plenty of sites with directions to this exact place. Not to mention one is in a online version of BOOK.

Thank you. And I was not targeting you in any way. It's well known that this place has directions posted in other locations which should be removed as well... thanks again :)

Its not that this place is exactly a secret.:?: Sure if this was one of a few places you can find directions thats one thing but when the place has directions posted all of the place including trail books, now your just crying to cry. Removing the directions from here doesnt exactly accomplish much.

This place (Kenter) is about as secret as the Fullerton Loop....Oh wait, is the Fullerton Loop in Fullerton? I bet there are directions posted on how to get there too?

Relax people, when there are directions on many very well known MTB sites, it's really not a secret at all.

Don't get your panties in a bunch over something that is really insignificant. I can see the secrecy if it was something like the SSDHC trail (as if that's a secret as well) but the Kenter Whoops have been around a very, very long time and it's a very established network of (GASP) MTB trails!

I guess I am part of the problem...

    Flame away.

I can totally see why Denmo deleted her (directions) post, good for her. She has done more for the DH/FR community than most of us around here. In my mind, she is an icon. I am proud to call her my friend.

I understand why people should not mention certain trails, etc... but some places are just too well known and not talking about the pink elephant in the room doesn't mean it's not there.

dirt jumps always have a vail of secrecy and they almost all get torn down eventually, how long until someone decides they want that fire road back at the whoops?

If your worthy you will get directions or be hanging out with the right people to show you the jumps anyways. Ive said it before, ride it hard, ride it now, because nothing is permanent especially bike jumps, trails, frames #-o

maybe when you put some sweat equity into a place then you can have some input, I don't believe I've ever seen any of you helping to make the place better. all you do is show up, mess the jumps up, leave your garbage all over the place and then leave. and then you argue about whether posting directions to a place that's on private property is a bad idea or not. it was never a good idea, even back in the day and it's still not a good idea now, 2 wrongs don't make it right.

the least you can do is show up when we have trail days and help make the place better.

How do you find this "fontana" you talk about? Sounds like I might go out there one day.

I found kenter without any directions, Its not too hard. But it did take some time. We will never make it impossible to find riding locations, but I dont think we should make it super easy.
