the building progress has been slow because the dirt is seriously hard to work with.
there isn't really much dirt to speak of, it's all rocks and dust.. everything has to be sifted..

it's tough to get the new jumps up and running with just a coupla guys, some of the best progress was made when there were 10 dudes out there throwing dirt all day long.

Modifications are needed, and will happen, sensibly of course.. parts of the trail flow very well, but then you hit sections that totally kill the flow. So, the goal is to build good sized, well spaced jumps that allow for complete flow all the way down.

If you want your input to be heard, come out and help dig!

the hip monstrosity is Kurt's unfinished project, and is one of the first things on the list to fix. He dug it out and roughed it up, because he was getting ready to fill it in and face it all really nice. Then he took a major digger on the main line and has been MIA for a while.

Like I said, I'll happily throw dirt around if I'm out there, but it's a long drive for me just to dig. best work on lots of places and share the wealth

Is Kurt the guy on the green Black Mrkt? I was talking to that guy about building that was going on and he was talking about finishing that hip...

no, Kurt is the crazy old guy that shreds harder than most of the dudes that come out there. He's on a green DJ bike with a really loud CK hub and wears a fullface. He's 50+ years old, and gets some serious air.

Brian was riding the Green Blackmarket right? I think his name was brian...

I tend to agree on the table line. It feels like it's way too easy to overshoot them =/

All you would have to do to mak the table line harder to over clear, is make them 2 feet taller and steeper

no offense, but Kurts works was mostly doing what some of us wanted to do and he's no longer around. I'm a mtbiker and I've put just as much time into this 'locals' trails as anybody including Kurt, but you can't progress and stay the same at the same time so if you don't like it then go someplace else.

I met him there a while back, it was his first ride since he got airlifted out of there. The guy has battled a lot of demons in his life and the whoops were/are his place to escape reality and just have a great time.

110% cool dude and a fantastic rider considering he is older than me and can hit everything there. He is well into his 50's.

I keep hoping that I will run into him again whenever I am up there. That place is a gem in So Cal.
