I would love to ride Noble with you! And learn from you, how to get through that chunk that puzzles me!

Cool, thanks... so basically MTBBill's "Tour de Noble"?

    http://www.mountainbikebill.com/TourDeNoble.htm

Looking for something that will push our technical skills on the tandem, this might be the ticket.

Yep, but we cut out the Indian Creek/Champagne Pass loop, which ended up being a good idea, since we spent quite a bit of time playing on the log features. We were out on the trail for 8 hours!

Since I made the map and know the link: http://i288.photobucket.com/albums/ll171/murcalumis-space/mtb/BLT-2010_cleft.jpg.

This ride doesn't include the bottom Nobel portion done by this particular STR ride report, and probably many miles they didn't hit...but I suggest you try something like it some day if you like backtracking/doubling as little as possible...

also here is another way to add some, and subtract some: http://connect.garmin.com/activity/32802022...if you are really ambitious you could add lower Nobel...and a ride back up Indian to East Mesa and Cuyamaca...

Knew I should have asked more STR people to come...and posted a call to riders here as well...

Multiple Nobel rides are on Geo, and Garmin Connect. I posted a version w/out lower Nobel here: http://www.gpsies.com/map.do?fileId=ohcbfopxtejgbgnx

There are countless options in this area.

    Aqua is an asshole!

The proof is in the picture! Clearly he has shoved Willie off the log. Proof that even the super model can have a catty PMS moment!

I wasn't much help either. But in my defense, I was filming. Hey, I did let her use my bike for the next try which was successful I might add.

We had one dozen people on our ride. I think if we had merged with another 30 we'd have been out till sun up.

I've never had a bad ride on Noble. And I'm the one that's been riding it since the ferns were small.
Not sure what time we got rolling but it was late. On the other hand, seems like most didn't care. Don't do Noble if you have a time constraint!
We didn't do Indian Creek trail. Fine with me. I thought it was going to be really hot and I'm not big on climbing in the heat. Nonetheless, taking the road/fire road up was pretty grueling in parts.
But very fun in other parts! getting my roadie fix!

Genny thought this was possibly 'Pinball'. Is it?

    Preeetty!

    Bon Appetite!
First the potato lady loaded us up with oranges, then banana's, then she walked across the road and gave us the potato's with a little bowl of salt! What great timing. I forgot to pack a sandwich and all I could talk about was food! How pathetic! Jay gave me a half a ham sandwich that was DEElish and Ken gave me a Payday bar. Then the potato's and oranges and I was yummy full! Thanks guys!

Found this perv lurking in the brush.

More meadow shots cuz it's hard to find meadows like these 30 minutes outside a big city!

I find this mildly disturbing. Especially with the chunk coming up!

Where Aqua thinks deep thoughts such as 'where shall I put my next feature?'

Freekengo ponders "Crap! I gave away my last Payday bar!"

Even the equestrians were in fine spirits!

The meadow was wet in places so Aqua guided us up and around and then back down!

Look at this! He even helped everyone with their bikes!

More to come in a bit!

Now we enter the fun features section!
    Pat Splat!
    Pat phat!

    DavidB is flawless dahling!

Yeah, you have to stand in front of 'Dental Plan' to appreciate it's gnar! Then you walk to the back side of it and find a deeper respect for it and those who can ride it!

    Widow-Maker!

    The old ferns!

A possible forest nymph or wood nymph I suspect
    [IMG]

Aqua, you take the high road...

and I'll take the low road!

Finally, Stairway to Hell! Always challenging, always fun.

    cleaned it!

Very awesome riding by Steve on a feature called Dragons Back! Stunning display of courage and skill! You have to stand below it to appreciate it!

Finally Freekengo shows off his skills which were very impressive!

    Then Steve..

That's it. I would have taken more shots of everyone's smiling faces back at the car but I was seriously trashed tired by this time. My legs and back were wasted from so many jumping dismounts! sheesh!
I lost my camera for a bit. Walked back up about 10 minutes and found it! Wow! Can't believe it. What luck.
And what a great group to ride with. They all waited talking nasty about me behind my back I'm sure!
Tara, you were awesome! Mark, Mr. Potato carrying man Thanks! Lovin' and Ken and Jay and DavidB and everyone else, so glad you made it! Sorry for the guy Mark that blew his bearing and had to bail. Least he got to do all the meadow riding and log riding!
To all of you that have never done this before..WTF?
Somethings are just worth driving for.
    See ya out there!

I'm deeply in love and may ride it forever. Except it's really really heavy! It's 30 pounds. That's very very heavy. It hurts to ride up hills in my middle ring like I usually do. It's easier on my Merlin which misses me very much. ;)

I hear there's a virus going around called Noble Fever. Once someone get's it, it spreads like wildfire. Weird it never happens on a weekend. Hope I don't get it on say, a Wednesday.... ;)

Perish the thought! The bike snob in me poo-poo's granny gears. On the other hand, the blown disc in my back relish's the granny. Oh the conflict never ends! Am I a "goater" or a "downhiller"!

    oops! there's the answer! ;)

Looks like I'll have to add Noble to my must do list. The reports and pictures were fantastic!
