Who wants to go to mammoth either 1st or second week of sept?

I would love to go to mammoth for the first time and before the season ends. Who wants to go? I want to split the cost gas hotel or camping I don't care how it is done. I really want to go. Hit me up if your interest.

What kind of rig would be needed? I have a FS bike with 4" travel.

 

You will be able to ride the intermediate and perhaps a couple of black diamond trails like skid marks, kamikaze, and richter. For the double blacks and most of the single blacks like flow, follow me, shock treatment, etc... I don't think you have enough bike.

Not to worry though there are plenty of intermediate trails out there. Lots of cross country riding to do.

 

Are the trails marked and easy to find? Do they have maps I can buy? How is the terrain, very loose sandy like big bear? Just wondering.

 

If you are going to ride the Mammoth Mountain Bike Park, you will need to purchase a ticket to access the trails. If you are just going to pedal, there is a pass for that. If you want to ride the lift and use the shuttle van, the ticket will cost you a few more dollars. And yes, they have trail maps and all of the trails are marked (unlike Big Bear). There are many types of terrain and soil types there.

 

I would want to take the lift up the mountain. I just wanted to get a general idea of the terrain on the down hill runs.

Sept 10 to 12 I have to just me and one friend. I reserved a room at mammoth mountain in the room has to beds. You are more then welcome to come if you don' t mind sleeping on a roll a way bed. I just got the room to sleep. I will be riding most the time.let me know if you like to join us.
