You know I noticed the last few times I have been up there some guys with DH bikes, but I never see them on the trail... anyone know where they are going? I only ride for about an hour and their cars are already gone by the time I climbout.

Those guys on DH bikes are probably heading over to the top of Barn Owl trail, Sandbox trail, Klondike, Panorama trails.

Brian, there's always a bit of climbing there. Once you drop down Ishibashi Trail, you'll need to climb back up. The easiest climb back up would be Burma Rd vs taking Eagle Nest single track back up.

Take a look at the elevation profile:

@neccros Unfortunately, PV dirt is all up or down. No flatness anywhere. Actually, I usually park at 25th and Anchovy and then ride in. I get a little warm up on the flatter road, then head up Forrestal Dr.

where is barn owl exactly? I usually ride ishibashi then cross over burma and keep going down. I don't really know the names of most of the trails, but I've never seen a sign for barn owl, sandox or klondike

I think i have seen Panorama trail, like pandora i don't remember seeing the signs. I am using Del Cerro as just a training loop to get stronger on climbs and have a little bit of fun in the slalom area. I think I need to go and explore a little. I take it North Shore and the grand Canyon is closed down?

If you follow Burma instead crossing it and taking Toyon Trail after coming Ishibashi Trail, you will get to the top of Barn Owl. You can descend Ishibashi, then take Burma to the top of Barn Owl, descend that, then take Panorama down. You'll come to a junction to either continue on Panorama which will take you back to Burma or take a sharp left and take Sandbox which will descend down to Peppertree Trail.

Check the map here: View attachment portuguese-bend-trail-map.pdf

You'll see the trails names plus all the trails are marked with names. These pics were taken June 2011, so maybe the signs are no longer there?
