Hi guys, haven't been on here for awhile. I no longer have a fs (now a ht).

I read up on the thread detailing the legal battles at Del Cerro. Wow. I was gone to Oregon during the bulk of that, or I would've been more than happy to help represent. I do intend to join the trail crew while I'm still down here and active (see you on Apr 14th).

As it is right now, I take the fire road to ishibashi to the toyon trail and then a few cycles on the the peppertree trail, and then back up. It gives me a nice 1 1/2 or 2 hour ride.

I get off work at 5:30, so I'm aiming to hit the trail at 5:45 and get back roughly at sunset (which this page is telling me is at 7pm sharp right now). I'm going to start doing this every weekday and Saturday (starting at 4:30ish on Wednesday and Thursday) unless rain makes the trail too muddy.

Is there anyone else that's on the same schedule as me? Unfortunately, I don't have a light bright enough to do night riding right now, so I'm pretty much limited by the sun. I'd be glad to have other people join me.

I still ride that trail pretty frequently, I try for once a week. But for me, I do it before work hitting the trail around 7:30am when I do, if you're up for anything on the early side let me know :)

I might be able too join in on the ride every now and then. If I don't leave work by 2:30, I stay in the area (Torrance) till 7:00, traffic SUCKS on the 405 SB to Mission Viejo.

I work at LAX during the graveyard shift. When I get off in the morning, I've ridden there a few times. I grabbed a map at the trailhead to show which trails are legal to bikes. Some of the trails have been closed to bikes, but we can still get a good ride in.

For those not familiar with the area, please obey the posted signs as there are lots of hikers and equestrians there watching. Some of the signs have the "no bike" removed, but it's obvious that there used to be a "No Bikes" there so don't take the trail.
We don't want to lose our privileges again after CORBA PV worked hard to get things re-opened to us.

Here's the map I use and some pics of the area:

    Thanks for the update, Gene.

Those trails look sweet and the bonus is the fantastic view of the Pacific Ocean.

I try and ride the dirt in PV every one to two months. Besides Portuguese bend proper, there are other trails that can be accessed legally too. Forrestal and Three Sisters can be ridden too. Be prepared to do some road riding to get to and return from the Three Sisters. And Forrestal is hike a bike in spots to get to the ridge. Also, I like parking off Forrestal, easier to access from Long Beach and I get a down hill back.

@neccros go to the link I posted. At the top, you can click on Portuguese Bend for a map.

I road Del Cerro for the first time in 4 years on Wednesday. I work in Torrance and with DST I am going to try and get out there on Tuesdays and Thursdays from about 545-730. I did 3 laps of Ishi something like 6 miles with 1200 Feet of climbing, it's a good training run. It was a little late for me to explore and look for other open trails but I will try that next Tuesday.

We ride wed leaving Del Cero 4:15 to 4:30. We go over to Forrestal as part of our loop. Some steep climbs. After about 1:45 minutes I am toast. I have been off the bike for 2 weeks (otb going down J-drop). Hope to be back riding next week.

I can meet up with you this upcoming Tuesday if you're interested - and if it isn't still completely mudded out. The weather forecast is calling for rain this monday so it may be a no-go

I live in Lomita at PCH and Crenshaw, so I'm ~15 min away

I'm interested, but what time do you usually get to the trail at?
