We were planning on it - but now have to head north for Parents. Can't wait to hear the RR, just ran the Zombie 'Run for Your Lives' out there, SOO much fun. Plenty of wine-tasting side trips before heading home too :)

I will be doing the 12 hour since it is in my backyard..not sure if I will do the enduro or not. A bunch of local peeps are riding and they are fast Moto guys converting over to MTB's. If we get the rain as predicted on Thursday/Friday it should make for awesome conditions Sunday!

I'm joining forces with my wife to form a 2 person coed team like we did in June. Some other teammates are competing in some other categories (6HR solo and 12HR solo). Always one of the better events.... see you all out there!

    From the site:

""We will be releasing racers Time Trial style for all 3 stages of the Enduro races!

Racers will be timed from the top to the bottom of each race course.
Racers will not be timed from the bottom to the top of the course while in transition to the next course!
At the end of the day the total time from all 3 races will be tallied and the overall victory will go to the racer with the
    lowest time!

    pedal to stage 1
    2. The first race of the day takes place at 9:00 am.
The first race course will be about 8 -10 minutes long and consist mostly of downhill with a couple of pedaling sections
thrown in for fun! The downhill in the first race will tend to be a bit more technical and fast! It is meant to emphasize trail
biking and downhill skills. But it is not a scary downhill course! This is a Enduro!
At the end of the race results will be tallied and posted.

    pedal to satge 2
    3. The second race of the day will start at 10:30 pm.
The second race course will about 8 -10 minutes long and consist of mostly downhill with a few pedaling sections thrown
in for more fun! This race will feature less technical sections and a couple of short steep sections at key points. But this
race is not XC and not Short Track! It is an Enduro - where gravity is your friend!
At the end of the race results will be tallied and posted.

    pedal to stage 3
    3. The third and final race of the day goes off at 12:00 noon
The third course of the day will be about 5-10 minutes in duration and consist mostly of downhill with a few pedaling
sections thrown in for the most fun! The third and final race will have a great combination of the previous 2 races. It will
be mostly downhill with a few technical sections, some pedaling sections, and a few short steeps to keep you on you
game! But remember this is not a Downhill course or an XC course it is Enduro! Super FuNNN!
At the end of the third and final race results will be tallied and posted.

    4. Please remember this is not a downhill event. These events take endurance, skills, and anaerobic conditioning.
There are uphills and pedaling sections throughout the day! Strategy and race experience will help you plan your day,
to include race nutrition and time lines. You must be at the start area at the designated time or face a negative time
    penalty.
    5. Each race will be timed, each racer will be ranked according to the place they came in. All 3 Races for the Day will
combine times for the racers overall time. Results will be posted as quick as possible in between races. Overall results
will be tallied at the end of the day and the Overall winners will be crowned SoCal Enduro Champions!""

I've done this race before and all I can tell you is it's JUST LIKE the kind of trail riding we do for fun. Casual climbing to the top of some fun way to get down. My only advice: Pin it in your group start as it will be difficult to catch/pass people on some of trails once you drop of the fire road sections.

    Have fun!!

I would understand "time trial style" as one at a time start, not a group start?

To prevent a huge bottle neck, but still let you know who your are racing, Jason sends us off in groups of 5. At least that's what we were doing last year...

We've talked to Jason up there a few times during our pre-rides getting the rundown. All starts will be individual in the Enduro this time, with one rider sent every 30 seconds. I'll be there Sunday - see you there Salespunk!

That jump line can be fun...

Hey guys read the website about a month ago we changed the format of the Enduro races. We will be releasing everyone 1 at a time in a time trial fashion. Each racer will be released one at a time in 30 second intervals. See you all this weekend!
    Jason

Ps it is individual for all three races!
