So how many STR members are affiliated with teams or clubs? I know there are a bunch of VeloSport members on here. Troupe has had a good presence at many of the local races and I've noticed some Platinum guys making their way down as well. Who else is out there?

I had such a great time at Over The Hump, I'm all amped on racing right now. The turnout was really impressive and dominated by our VeloSport friends.

I think VeloSport is great, but if OTH pans out and becomes a weekly series next summer, it would be cool to see some more variety in the field.

Team Velocity! A Fullerton based recreational club with a fair number of road/crit/track racers; an off-the-hook cyclocross crew (20 or so), and a subset of that crew who occasionally race mountain bikes. Saturday mornings are dedicated to club rides; noted for 3 different start times and a general safety culture; don't run red lights, yield to cars, stop and help each other with mechanicals, etc. www.teamvelocity.org Also noteworthy for it's affiliation with Fully Loop denziens and STR nemesis, La Habra Cyclery riders, who, are generally cool, fast, and friendly, if you can keep up with them!

Also, there is a super-secret Tuesday night cyclocross practice that leaves newbies (and old farts) puking in the bushes, bruised and battered from mistimed dismounts, and nursing injuries to top-drawer microbrews and yummy hand-crafted home brews, which are fermented by super yeasts, often hitting 9%! If you happen across one of these Velocity riders on a mountain bike, chances are they'll know about the cross practice; drop a hint, get invited, and we'll slap a jersey on you and you can help us out in the Team points standings this year.

Thanks Johnny, that's the response I was looking for. Cyclocross looks like a blast. I have a hard time budgeting my time between XC, downhill and road riding and the last thing I can afford right now is another bike.

You guys seem to cover it all.

I've been a part of OTBMBC for about 10 years now. Great group of guys to ride with. Long rides, short rides, night rides, epic trips covering most of So Cal.

I'm with Colavita. Great group of riding enthusiasts located in the Simi Valley/Thousand Oaks/Moorpark area. The majority of the members favor road riding, but there are several of us who ride/race mountain.

We have a few Cat 1, a few Cat 2 and a couple Cat 3 MTB racers. A couple of us lean towards endurance MTB racing. We also have some who compete in triathlons, and a couple Cat2/3 roadies.

If you're in the area and would like to join us for a road ride, we ALWAYS have a group going out at 7:30am on Sundays. We meet at the corner of Yosemite and LA Ave at the Tutor Time parking lot.

For dirt rides, PM me thru this site and I'll let you know when our next ride is. We'd be glad to see ya!

troupe here. we're a small team - just 12 riders this year. growing slowly, but right now we're not about numbers. we're also a bit more into the endurance races (12's and 24's), but about half of us also do xc races.

we usually do an evening ride during the week in el moro... if you're the area send a pm.

My wife's mom lives in T.O. I often ride by myself when I'm up that way so I may take you up on that. I'm in Orange County so we only visit up there a couple times per month.

You guys have a strong presence at Fontana. It seems like I never go more than 10 minutes during practice without seeing one of you guys. Very cool.

The website looks good. Congrats to Troupe for the 1st in Sport 2 at OTH. I'm in Tustin and I'm always down to ride with new people. Hopefully we get some cooler temps this week.
