Hey Greg - there are SO many reasons I won't make this one, but a suggestion - add it to the calendar for RSVP's.

Much easier than chasing and deciphering junk in a thread.

You can do this on a SS. I have tried to middle ring it the whole way but have never quite made it (though I've been close)... If you can get past the first three miles, you are good to go.

Harding is actually easier on the SS......the first 20 mins. or so sucks, but once past that it really isn't bad.

heck Rox, my SS hasn't seen daylight since getting the fatty. I'll be rolling the Mukluk up the hill; you can try it out if you like. Just be prepared to ask Ray for a new bike! Hey, it's a perfect Mothers Day gift! That said, I am 100% committed to rolling up Harding on any Sunday for sure, but this Sunday might be an issue with Mothers Day. Allow me to "gingerly" approach the subject at home. I'll do my best to be there. Will update here as soon as I know.

I cleared it with my wife because my son had a conflict and won't be there in the morning, anyway, so we are going to have a Mother's Day DINNER with BBQ, etc!

You are making a good choice going up Harding. We did the peak via Maple last Tuesday and it was a dusty bumpy climb. It would be even more miserable on a weekend with all the moto's. Harding (from our view point) looked beautiful. My only question...Why not make it a shuttle and go down Holy Jim? HJ is primo right now.

I had forgotten about the motos. Another reason to like Harding :)

I've done the whole loop (i.e. without the "shuttle") - and it's a good time but quite a distance. Holy Jim is one of my favorite descents. :)

This first ride is just up to Four Corners as a "training" ride for people who have never been up there before. I don't want to turn it into a death march :) Depending how people feel after this weekend's ride, we could do the shuttle if they wanted. Once we're on top of Santiago, doesn't matter how we come down, really.

Ironically, there seems to be a lot of suggesting alternate start times and routes in this very thread!

I'll also try to make other "training" rides if I can.

Wise choice for you! You will be fine to takle the peak.

I am on call this weekend so I'm out for this weekend. I will probably just go cruise around turnbull waiting for a service call.

The BIG big route is park at the bottom of Trabuco Canyon, ride to Cook's Corner, ride into Modjeska Canyon, up Harding, tag the peak, then down the back and out via Holy Jim and the Trabuco Canyon Road.

Garmin tells me that ride is 34 miles, 5800 feet of climbing, and 2940 calories :) It certainly FELT that long :)

PS If anyone is coming on the training ride this Sunday up to 4 Corners, RSVP here
