Looks like I'll be heading up there the end of July through the 1st week of August. Nerdgirl, hope to see you and Luke up there. Was fun riding with you guys at Snow Summit last year.

We rode there Friday and Saturday. There are still not enough DH trails open to warrant paying full price for a lift ticket (fortunately we had free ones, so we decided to stay and ride). Thunderstorms, hail and lightning closed the gondola early on both days. Wet pumice was nice but pedaling on Paper Route was draining. There is still mucho snow at the top!!!

I'm thinking 2 weeks (weekend of the 30th) for my 1st weekend, depending on a few things.

If anyone wants to go, let me know. I'd like people who are faster and don't mind hitting the blacks all day.

Bryan, I might be up for two weekends in a row, if I'm not too slow for you.

I'm fine with you. I just want people who are willing to ride pretty much anything up there. The weekend is more relaxing when I don't needa worry about whether someone can handle the riding.

btw, the sequoia has a 4-bike extension now, so things got much easier

I posted this on another Mammoth related thread, but for those who missed it--

If you click on this link:
    http://www.mammothmountain.com/MyMammoth/
And select the "Trail Status" tab, you can see which trails are open or closed that day.

I will be there in 2 weeks and I am sure that I will have fun-- Looks like any trail I would be riding is open, so yay for me! :D (I hope that the rest of them open soon for all you badass types :) )

What were you riding? We probably crossed paths at some point. I was on a Demo with gold wheels and handlebars with 3 guys on red and white Demos.

There are trails there that aren't blacks?

Oh yeah, Bryguy, nice photo of you on Flow Drop.... It really shows how big it is. Videos flatten it out SO much.

Been up in Mammoth for 2 days now. Rode all day today. Trails are wonderfully empty!! Have 3 more days of the bike park and also will be doing Lower Rock Creek on Thursday morning (it has been freaking hot down there-- so a morning ride in LRC it will be).

Going this Friday - Sunday, hopefully there won't be any lightning strikes to close down the Gondola this trip!

if it was monday, then no. I was only up there on sunday. if it was then, then probably. not many people with blue/raw M6's that look make them look like BMX bikes floating around

and how you can do 5 straight days of riding in the bike park is beyond me. my ability to hold onto the handlebar diminishes greatly after a little over 1.5 days...
