    Where are you guys talking about racing in Whittier Narrows? Where is there a track over there? What kind of racing?
    I know the area pretty well, but never knew of any type of MTB racing track?:?:

    Nevermind, I just Googled it and am blown away! I go down Rosemead every day on the way home from work, never knew this track existed, I may swing by just to watch on the way home. Track looks pretty cool from the bird-eye view

    Why are hardtails better for dirt jumping?

    You dont get the effect of the rear suspension sucking up momentum. Try riding a full DH bike on a BMX track to see what I mean. When you are trying to pump, a full suspension really slows you down.
