I know a few people have wanted to go, I am going, just not sure when. I would love to go with a group this year. I am not sure for how long yet either. I am putting this out there to see who is interested and when they might be looking to go.

I am personally looking end of aug first week of Sept. I am not set on these dates though.

The hours change on Sept 6 and start shutting down a 5pm vs 8pm.

Also Crankworx is Aug 9-17 so it could be a zoo and much more for hotel.

I figured the earlier we can plan the cheaper it will be.

    i want to go.
As much as gas costs and a pain it will be, i'd liek to drive so i can take my own bike. :?:
Oh, plus i dont have a passport, ad i hear it takes forever to get one :-k

does anyone know a approximate cost?
for people who have been, about how much does it cost per day at whistler?
Lift ticket, food, hotel, etc etc.
i'm really interested in going but i'd really have to save up.

I'm interested..........late August would probably work for me. Gonna be in Portland on labor day weekend for a wedding, so this might work out perfectly.

Would also like to go but its not in the budget. I am however planning a week to Northstar if anyone is interested. 3rd week of July or 2nd week of August. I've got trailer that will sleep 6 and don't really want to go solo but I will be going regardless. Mammoth will be the other week.

Definitely interested in riding Northstar! I'd love to go to whistler, but it is a bit out of budget for this year. I am planning a trip with a few friends to head to Mammoth in early August as well.:bang:

the real question: save up for bigger DH bike to better enjoy whistler, or save up and go to whistler :-k#-o

but yeah, I'd like to go. My bro might be up in seattle for work, so I may visit him/visit whistler then :)

North Star sounds like a great idea.

So does Whistler, but I too am not sure if it is within my budget.
Does anyone know what the costs would be for the hotel and flight with bike?

I really want to do a Whistler trip this summer. I'd think mid to late July while the dirt is still somewhat moist.

I'd also prefer to drive and perhaps bring trail bikes to stop at other locations on the drive up.

If Ko can get the time off of work (a real challenge), we can consider it part 1 of 2 of our honeymoon. But still traveling in a group would be fun.

Oh, and another piece of advice - do not stop at Northstar on the way back from Whistler. I did that two years ago, and in comparison, Northstar really sucked after Whistler.

Ok here are some basic numbers

Lift Ticket $44 a day or 115 for 3 days

Hotel you looking at $100+ a night

Flights it depends if you fly to Seattle or Vancouver You could also drive the whole way. But remember you if bring your bike your pay extra $.

Driving your looking around 1400 miles and maybe 2-3 days of driving,

Actually, you can bomb run it in about 22ish hours. Or you can enjoy some of the many great trails along the way.

    Thanks Mfoga
    Just had a thought (8-[).
The IMBA used to have a shipping deal going for members where you could get a bike shipped for 50 bucks door to door. I am not sure if that was one-way (probably) or if the service is still available (or to Canada). I might look into it though.

It will take a little longer if the highway is still like it was last summer. Almost the whole Sea to Sky hwy (about 100 km) was 25 or 35 kph. It ended up taking me about 2 1/2 hours and that was with me speeding a lot. Do you how hard it is to do 25 kph:lol:

I´m waiting for them to bring out a 22-hour energy drink then. As far as I know, it is only available in powder form at the moment.

That is always a good idea.

To be completely honest I am flying but thats only due to the fact I can fly for free. Unless the whole group was going to bring couple bike and stop along the way then i might consider driving up.
