I see registration is open for the Whiskey 50 now. I rode this last year and had a blast. I know Maxwell and some other STR folks made it out to Prescott last year too. So who is going to do it this year?

It is a blast. However, after completing the 50 and talking to a few guys who did the 25, it did sound like the 25 was more fun (no OAB down into Skull Valley).

But the 50 comes with some sort of bragging rights.

I'm in as well for the 50 proof. Sounds like a great weekend of mountain biking.

I've registered for the 50 geared...it shall be fun. A trip with the family to Prescott to come. if you have a chance stay at the motor lodge, great people own/run the place and the design of the rooms are very retro. 3 blocks from the start. May not be the place for the more conservative type, keep in mind.

have fun all at the race...it nothing like the fire roads we have to ride in OC to have an epic adventure.

I did the 50 last year and it was a great course. You get all the sweet singletrack on the 25. The added portion of the 50 is an out an back on a fire road down in to May Valley and back up. Choose you poison: The 25 has all the sweet singletrack. The 50 has the same singletrack, but some spectacular views and more time on the bike.
CrazySue will be doing the 25 this year and I'll return for the 50. It's bonus for us because we have several friends who live in Prescott.

    See ya' there...

I did the 25 in 2009 and 2010. I won't be returning this year because I don't have the vacation time. It's a great ride/race on some of the most varied terrain you will find.

Just got in for the Whiskey 50. I was deciding between that race or the Idyllwild Spring Challenge. Decided to make a trip to Arizona for the Whiskey 50 instead (plus I am training for the VQ so might as well do the longer race since my training is there).

Also, picked up that last room for the motor lodge that weekend. Looks like a nice place and all of the reviews are 5 out of 5 (out of almost 200 reviews, now that is good).

First year in many that I may not be there. I normally spend the week out there riding but it does not seem to be working out this year.

I don't know if I can pul it off this year. It's a great event. I personally would do the 25 and take a few extra days to ride in the area. Sedona too.

Hotchkiss and I will be there. Just registered for the SS 50 \\:D/. We heard great things about it last year from SoloRider, and it's been on our list ever since. We have some family out in Gilbert, but we may be looking for a good place to camp the night before the race, if anyone has any suggestions.
