Whiskey Off Road 50 2010

I signed up for the 50 too. My wife and I will be on vacation in Sedona the week prior so this works well for me to catch on the way home.

 

this sounds really fun. anybody in for a road trip? binh, craig, jeff, danny, bert, snatch, tink, gray, simon, julie, anyone? c'mon!

 

Figure out a way to get out there, some teaser pics of Preskit riding.

 

Thanks for the map dstepper. Do you think it will be hard to get a spot at White spar if I show up on Thursday? I can always camp on BLM but it would be nice to hang out with some other riders.

 

It is still cold out so I don't think many will be camping. If White Spar not open or full, it is $8 a night at the Granite Lake and I know they are open year round.

There are many cheap motels in Prescott. The Sheldon Street Lodge is $99 for 3 nights. There are others east of downtown on Gurley St are also around a $30 per night range.

I am hoping we find the time to drive to Flagstaff for a day. I believe the snow on Hart Prairie will be gone.

Looks like I'll miss you guys by one day. I'll be in Flagstaff Sunday night the 25th. I'm starting the 250 mile loop on the 26th at first light.
Still lots of mud and snow in the trails around Flag. I can deal with snow, but mud sucks.

Leaving on Tuesday for a round-about route to the festival. Stopping a few different places along the way to ride and educate the ever expanding minds of my two little ones.

Well, my car is about loaded up. Hammer Products, Peet's Coffee, coffee maker, MTB DVD's, coffee cup, PB&J, coffee, you get it. All the road trip necessities! Although, I'll stop by Prescott Coffee Roasters, and pick up a pound, just because I wouldn't want to run out.
Since I'm driving out alone, I'll be taking along all three bikes. My Stinky Air gets to make the trip this time around, just in case I get a wild hair to ride 50 miles on it.

Tomorrows Kona Jump Jam, is gonna be a great start, for a great road trip!

Look at the map and come into Prescott on Iron Springs Road through Skull Valley it will save you a good 20-30 minutes getting to the house.

I'm on track to make it, so far. Plan to leave Friday, on a multi-task trip. I'll be dropping my father off at my Aunt's house (so that he can visit with her), then off to Prescott... See ya'll there.

Does anyone know how the weather is affecting the Whiskey and the local trails? From the weather report I gather it will be snowing in Prescott on Thursday, which was when I was planning on coming out! The forecast also calls for a chance of rain and snow on Friday too.
