Whats up from Riverside!

    Hey, my name is bryan, and I'm pretty new to biking in general (2 months or so?), and like 2 weeks into mountain biking.

    Don't have a MTB of my own yet, but I have a 50$ craigslist special road bike that I'm working on building up. Working on completing the Shimano Sante group to go with the 80s/early 90s theme. I've gone on exactly one ride since I discovered MTB though :?:.

    I've been riding an 03 Jekyll 1000 (Large, and I'm 5'6!) around sycamore canyon till I can find a nice hardtail in my size. That thing is a BITCH to climb on! But downhill it sure is fun! I'm still pretty slow though because I'm pretty sure I'm allergic to rocks and the plaster they use in casts.

    I'm 23, I was a real estate appraiser full time for a few years but now I'm back at rcc riverside studying engineering (chem/electrical/comp havent decided yet). I'm always down for a climb, road or dirt it doesnt matter to me :bang:

    Hopefully I'll be seeing you guys and gals out in the dirt this so cal "winter" season :lol:

    Velcome to a very interesting site, everyone has special qualities you can be motivated by. I don't ride xc or sycamore but whatever you do be on it to win it. Your young sacrifice your body a little and get a dh rig.

    Welcome form Mo Val! Its about a 20 minute ride for me to get to sycamore and I ride there, oh, about 2-3 times a week, or I ride sycamores brother, box springs. Give me a PM sometime and I can try and show you around. Oh and don't listen to these guys, the only suspension you need is your legs, the only gearing you needs is your legs too.

    So I jinxed myself, apparently. Yesterday while I was riding around in the SW corner of Sycamore I hit a little rut or slippery angle wrong going down one of the little hills and got some rugburn. I'd say I got a nice reminder that its probably a good time to go shopping for a helmet :)

    also, if anyone finds a little blue speedometer thing around there could you let me know? lol #-o

    Dude, get a lid before you go riding again. Pros wear lids. Better a cracked helmet than a cracked skull.
