Its Cal Poly Pomona's collegiate race they hold on every year. I raced last year and it was fun. Its a small race and a relaxed atmosphere. Same exact course the southride series is held on.

Went last year and helped shuttle a bit at practice. Our friend Blair ran the show for the most part. They keep the set-up fairly basic compared to the Southridge races. Really loved the fun laid back vibe can't forget the gear from one of the SDSU guys. Yowzaaaa!! (that was from his race run) I'll be there as a spectator again.

The last time I raced it was about 4 or 5 years ago. To my surprise, I won Mens DH C while racing for the University of Morro Bay. UMB baby!

The race fees are cheap, the atmosphere is very laid back, and proceeds go to CP Pomona. Do you need anymore reasons to go?

I'll be there representing Cal Poly Pomona. It should be a lot of fun.

Oh, sorry for the delayed reply. Nope, it's not Cuesta.

Do you go to or live in SLO? If so, ask Josh at Foothill Cyclery for the history of UMB. Some of us go way back.

I think that would be foothill cyclery in SLO. I still remember the foothill cyclery in La Verne though. Did they just go out of business?

Does that mean they'll be doing NORBA for the race? I wanna go do DH, but they don't mention it in the flyer. Plus, I always love an opportunity to go hang out with my friends from CPSLO

And yeah, that would be foothill cyclery in SLO. Josh is a cool guy to talk to if you're ever up there.

UMB is still accepting applications for the Fall semester. If you apply within the next few days, you should be cleared to represent the team at Pomona. As for your race jersey, please draw Morro Rock on a wife beater using red sharpie.

hmm so would this be a good race to get started in? also, it doesn't say how many laps Mens C will do.. but A does 3 B does 2 so i'm guessing C only does 1?

i'm a pomona student, maybe if i don't race maybe i'll just go and watch

I stood on the sidelines my first few races back when I was at SLO, namely because I thought I wasn't fast enough. With some encouragement from some friends on the team, I entered my first race up in Chico. My pace was still slow as hell, but it was a complete and total blast.

The Pomona XC course is a ton of fun and is one of my favorites on the collegiate circuit.

Do you go to cal poly? I guess in either case I believe you have to be part of the team of the school you go to. Not 100% sure exactly but that was my understanding at one of the club meetings I attended.

If you go to Cal Poly then I can introduce you to the prez of the club and maybe you can fill out some forms and get you on the team so you can race this weekend. if you decide to race. I'm actually going to be up there friday evening, all day sat and all day sun.
So If you are interested then let me know maybe we can pull some strings for you so you can race.
