I completely agree, however the convenience of indoor climbing is a huge plus. I climb 2-3 days a week at an indoor gym after work because it's easier that going out to J Tree, Tram, Stoney, etc. 2-3 times a week. :)

In high school I was in cross country and gymnastics. Played Little League ball for 4 years. Surfed for close to 30 years but as previously stated by others I grew bored with it. I boxed Golden Gloves for 4 years but towards the end had my bell rung to many times and had to stop.
People were convinced something was wrong with me as a kid because I could never stop. Used to go from sun up til I collapsed. Man, I wish I had half that energy now.

My father put me on a motorcycle when I was 9, rode motorcycles in the desert until I was 20. Then rode street until I was 29. Fast forward to 2006, got a full rigid mtn. bike for commuting. Check into what Mtn biking was about, got F/S mtn bike joined Thursday night ride late June 2008. Been having a blast ever since.

Fine, I will rephrase. Please don't do it in the ocean or at least not where I surf.

SUPing and 29ers - which will still be popular in five years? (I have a hunch one, but not the other).

That was the one I was thinking... SUPboards are a nightmare to handle, maybe worth the effort, but I don't expect to see them much in five years. Bacci? Oh yeah!

We should absolutely do this. As long as we don't roll a keg onto the sand we will be fine.

I am down if we can do it during the week...

Whats up with you all giving up up surfing - i guess if its a long drive to get to the beach i can see how small waves can be a drag - but you gota love the sun and water and all the other good stuff at the beach

Mine mostly had to do with the 4 different soulder injuries in the last year and a half. Hard to surf when you can't use your shoulder.

The SUPing had nothing to do with catching more waves, if you are riding either of those boards, there is probably a reason you need the crutch.

In general I have found most people who ride SUPs to be unaware of their surroundings and and lacking in control over their equipment. Thats fine on a 6'2" but problematic when you have the largest board in the water.

Anyways we are both in Long Beach, so anytime you are free to surf let me know and we can grab some waves.

I am sure someone could scrounge up a board for you, or a few of us could make the walk south. Would you mind posting up some of your shapes?
