What makes one a better climber?

    I definitely agree with my height and weight on that chart. At the top of the scale is when I know I am fit enough to be competitive. I am not currently at that weight :/ I need to ride more!

    According to that height/weight chart I am ideal. :) Now only if I rode like a pro...

    Anyway, another climbing factor not yet mentioned is cadence and gear selection. Increasing my cadence has improved my climbing the last year. I never knew I was spinning too slow until I read some cadence tip in a magazine and started to approximate an ideal cadence during long climbs. Obviously its not as optimal as hooking myself up with electronics but it still works.

    Also make sure your hubs are spinning freely. Seriously. I fell behind on maintenance and finally figured out the BOTH of my hubs are cooked. I swear it was like pushing an extra gear or two lately, LOL.
