Well, truth be told, that's all I can remember off the top of my head. I also carry 3 Powerbars and 5 Gu packets. Lunch and snacks for the longer rides. A digital camera, my cell phone and ID/Insurance cards.

:-k I'm sure there are other odds and ends I can't remember off hand.

I'll have to check and weigh my pack when I get home. With 2L of water I think it weighs in the neighborhood of ~25lbs. :(

Pato - Is it still 25 pounds with the female masseuse? Next time I'll be looking for the lunch. Peanut Butter sandwich will be okay.

:-k Definitely there's more in that pack.

when i went to wash my camelbak my girlfriend said I didn't need it, I should just bring a water bottle and borrow parts if I needed them on the trail.

doesn't quite work that way. So I carry the basics plus some

Great suggestions but no one has mentioned one essential part I carry...usually.

    An extra cleat bolt!

Once you lose one on a ride you'll carry a spare from then on too!

Without listed everything, I try to carry everything i'd need to get back from a ride safely and without walking. I carry more on some rides than others. The more remote it is, the more I carry (and remote rides are my favorites). I try to have everything i'd need to survive a night on the trail: water, food, light, first aid kit, tools/tubes, few extra parts, windbreaker, emergency blanket, cell phone, matches, knife.

I thought I was the only one who lost a cleat bolt. Good to know I'm in good company.

Duct tape works good on cactus needles too! Especially the small ones you can barely see.
