Kleanwater: $13, take 15 minutes to clean regular water and 30 minutes to clean foul water, 3 oz.

Takes as long to clean, weighs .5 oz. less, and $127 less.

    I just can't help myself.

    along with the normal stuff...

I try to never carry "coins" unless its rare and I can sell it for a new wheelset. Calling cards are way cheap and LIGHT.

Water filter seem like a good idea... but really if you need it its an emergency... chlorine dioxide/iodine tablets are your best friend for keeping you out of trouble, no? Light weight and gets rid of more bad stuff... ick.

I'll go ahead and present an adult feature. My lightweight lexan flask filled usually with vodka. You never know. The weight this adds will offset the filter and present comapny will be much more pleased when this is presented...no?

I know other riders that carry stuff not listed... like their tunes that play bob marley... some use a walkman... some an mp3... some an Iphone... yes mon.

Is that salt taste nasty from miox? what about batteries... had a friend who mocked me for not having one only to have his battery fail... I laughed when he wanted a purifying tablet.

Poll: What spare bike parts do you carry on rides?

I had my first potential ride-ending mechanical last night at Blackstar. A bolt holding my swingarm fell off mid ride and i began a long walk back to the car when i fortunately found it. It made me think that I need to carry more stuff to make emergency repairs, so i wanted to see what the other STR riders carry. Beyond a tube and tools, do you carry spare bolts, cables, that kind of stuff?

Good subject. Here's what I normally carry with me.

    1. Long zip ties( the ones with the metal latch)
    2. Parks "tire boot"
    3. derailleur hanger
    4. shift cables
    5. brake pads
    6. duct tape (not the whole roll)
    7. extra(2) tubes (always presta)
    8. extra(2) sram power links
+ tools to work on most part of the bike. I hate walking. I'd rather carry the extra weight for the ability to make repairs.
