what did i invest in? just bought an iron horse

    hello nooby here, Im new to down hill ,but i got a wild butt hair and went out and bought a 2005 iron horse sgs pro frame,"medium size frame" , azonic love seat, mrp bash gaurd and 3pc cranks , marzocci front bomber forks,back manitou 4 way adjustable shock,azonic bars and stem,8'' rotors hayes disc brakes, head lock,shimano gears/shifter 8spd, and new grips i got it for $800 dollars and have no clue if it was a good deal or not how are those forks? and is that an okay rear shock? what are the pros and cons on this bike what should i upgrade first or are the parts good , any info on adjusting those forks or rear shock,thanks for any help

    Thats a good deal. That bike actually got solid reviews when it came out. It looks as if its an older Marz fork, which is a good thing. As far as adjustments, need more info. Such as your weight, height, what # spring on the rear shock. Being that its a little older and you are just getting into DH I would not put any money into upgrades.

    Probably a bad move. I feel for you though.

    I'll give you $400 for it as my nephew is looking for a bike to do his paper route with.

    Seriously, you probably did well. If it gets you riding and having fun, it was a score.

    Don't worry about any upgrading though. When you're ready, take what you have learned and get a new bike.

    I sold my 2003 bighit for 900$ with almost the same parts. Its not the greatest deal, but you also did not get ripped off IMHO.
