Welcome to the home of the West Coast Marathon Championships!
October 3rd 2009 marks the inaugural event for the West Coast Marathon Championships! For years the mountain bike marathon has been an integral bridge between endurance racing and cross country racing. The mileage for the marathon varies between 50-70 miles and encompasses all kinds of epic riding conditions. The first SoCal Fat Tire Epic 50 will take place at Vail Lake Resort in Temecula, CA. The course is a demanding 50 mile epic adventure. With long climbs and twisty -fun- roller coaster downhills. Lets not forget about the classic Vail Lake rolling ridge line descents! The course will consist of 2 laps of 25 miles around the perimeter of Vail Lake. With spectacular views of the wineries, Palomar Mountain, and the Agua Tibia wilderness. This event is sure to be a classic destination!
SoCal Endurance would also like to announce the first Annual "SoCal Bicycle and Fitness Expo". Southern California is a hotbed for the Mountain Biking and fitness Industries. We as a community need a place for our industry to come together and share the mountain biking
experience with the riders and sports enthusiast. We here at the SoCal Endurance want to bring our community and industry folks together and provide a venue for all to share. There will be bicycle manufacturers, race teams, nutrition manufacturers, sports equipment, coaching, athletic trainers, bicycle component manufactures, and much much more!​

All 1st place finisher's in each category will be crowned
West Coast Marathon Champions and receive a Custom
Champions jersey.

All top 5 finishers in each category will receive medals.[/FONT]

 

Is the SoCal Bicycle and Fitness Expo on the same day?

 

Jason - any idea when the course will be marked - or at least available to ride (w/ GPS file)?

Yes the expo will take place the same day. The only additions to take place may be adding the sunday for the expo only and maybe include a bicycle swap meet.

The course will be gps'd asap. I have several versions of it already done. I am just double checking and making sure everything is perfect! A great race starts with a great course!!!!

Thanks Jason. Sounds like a fun course. Dam Climb? My only request is no endless melee of 4 or 5 of those out and backs by the RC race track course. That nearly drove me to madness last June at the 12hour race.

BBQ Tri-tips again?

 

I'm totally psyched! Another fine Jason event. This will be an "A" race.
