Went to the ortho today and he went over my x rays and said 95% chance everything should heal normaly. The only bad thing is i will not be released until i am at 100% 8 weeks? thats a long time. They really cant do much for the collarbone break but try to keep it mobilized, everytime i turn i feel the bones rubbing and moving and that is uncomfortable (ok it hurts) I think when i am ready to ride again i wont be going very fast at all, in fact no scst for a while and no elevated ladder crossings.
Broke mine this past late summer / early fall. That bone rubbing - clicking thing sure is fun, huh? Heal up quick!
I have broken mine twice.....it gets less painful each time.....but the lump gets bigger each time.#-o
Look at the positive side. When it heals it will be stronger than before and...you get to have a cool bump there that will clearly identify you as a Mtn. Biker to everyone who sees you with your shirt off.
so does this mean no riding at all now? i was talking to some guy at the laguna hills performance and he broke his collar bone going over one of the bridges at scst too. I rode right off one once and superman'd it but wound up ok. get well!
On the bright side, at least you didn't need surgery. I was sidelined for four months last year cuz of my busted c-bone. #-o Hope you heal up fast.
Thats my plan next week try to stay in shape while i am healing. Funny thing is i bought the bike to get in some good cardio, now look at me sidelined for a couple months, staying fit sure can be un healthy
I was right behind you when it happened man, I'm glad the doc said you'll be fine. I was always afraid of bridge and watching you crashed make me swear that i'll walk all bridge from now on.
Did you happen to see what i did wrong? was i going to fast, all i remrmber is i couldnt make the turn and saying oh shit.
