going down the south ridge from bovinian overgrown... came down towards a trailhead with a burm near some houses i take the berm like a jackass not knowing what's after the berm into a rut and I stop on me left shoulder then finish stopping with the left side of my head.

sorry about the sentance structure, but i'm just on a a tear here.

i didn't black out or nothing but the left side of my head is a little sore, helmet only sustained dameage to the shell which was slightly cracked (The foam was completely intact) so i'm fairly certain that i'm ok.

I laughed it off and got laughed at by my buddy, laughter is the best thing isn't it!

anyhow 4-5 sierra nevadas and i feel OK! just a little but hurt though that I pissed of me old lady and I don't want to go to dinner now... oh well at least i'm not in a damned hospital. YAY i think.

so glad that my shoulder was the the thing that stopped me, it would be a differnet story if my head had absorbed the impact.

I will attemtp to saddle up tomorrow for a nice easy ride at turnbull, at least that's my story today:)

    we'll see

I was riding home drunk from the bar and got hit by a car this summer, a concussion is no joke. I didn't go to the Dr. or anything but I was pretty spacey for about a week, got dizzy a lot and had nausea, blurred vision. Still rode to school and went to work, but probably should have seen the Dr.

Concussions suck. Between riding and years of hockey, I've had a few. Take it easy, don't do anything that's going to lead to you hitting your head, and I'd probably lay of the beer for a bit too (though it sounds like it's a little late there. :D)

Anyway, doesn't sound like it's too bad. It's good that you didn't black out. I've lost a couple minutes of my life to a concussion more than once, and my head still works OK, so you can't be too bad off. :D

Heal up quick pal. And keep an eye out for any dizziness...nausea....or spotted vision. You're probably fine, but it never hurts to be aware.

    Get some rest.

It can pop up delayed. I've had enough concussions from my state wrestling days to know. Sometimes the damage is delayed in certain cases. I once got blurred vision and balance issues about a week and a half after I cracked my head off the mat.

Its rare, but happens. Just always best to keep an eye out.
