"Webb Cayon To Be Shut Down"....!!!!!

When we where riding at the ssdh on sat. morn we came across the owner of the property and he told us “ITS OVER”…….. Sorry to inform the community of mountain bikers ….”BUT”….. The place known as “SSDH” aka Web canyon is going to be closed down by the owners of the property… This comes after complaints from the surrounding community About the people riding the motorcycles ,driving RC cars and 4x4’s …. They are afraid that the property will catch fire and cause alot of damage to the surrounding houses and property….They don’t have a problem with the mountain bikes…… ”They called us the 95% of good people” that use the property. It’s the other 5% that is causing them to make the dissension to close the property…..The property has been opened to the public for over 100 Yr. as the family wanted to let everybody enjoy the wilderness that the place had to offer..”The owner had told me”

They love that we have used it to do something positive like mountain biking….. If you have read this to here you are the ones who will have the full heads up…. The owners and property owners around there will be calling the cops to help enforce the issue….
there are signs up as of now and the mean what they say …” NO TRESPASSING” and they will have you arrested and they mean it… He “the owner” told me that we can ride for two more weeks before the cops will be involved… he wants us to see the signs… he will also be putting a fence up around the whole property….from the houses from the east and the school to the west from the church at the south to the power lines to the north…..”That is all of the area that we ride” ……. While this whole thing sucks I kind of knew it was coming….so those of you who do ride there we have to find a new place to ride…..at this time…. You can take this message as you will. So if you keep ridding there you will take a chance on the cops stopping you….. as the owner said “ YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED"......

The owner could sell daily/monthly/yearly parking/enterance-passes and open a parking lot; so they 95% of us, can go ride!

Edit: But again, some people DID abuse that trail. I've found quite a lot of videos where people ride during the rain and leave ruts all over the place...

 

Now you will have to come out the farm in wildomar we can commit harry carry by building jumps out here. Webb was awesome I got air there.

 

Im working on something like that with him and will let everybody know what up..... but as for now it is closing... he has to talk to all the people around there and get them to say yes to the idea.... Cuz we have to cross there property to access the trails....If we can respect whats going on for now...." Its summer anyways" maybe by this fall we can get something like that going....

 

Very sad to hear. If you work with him on it and end up needing assistance from the City, please let me know. I used to work for the City and would be happy to work on their end of things if necessary.

27tat, it was cool meeting you yesterday and getting to ride with you, Marshall, Phil, John, Andrew, and Noel. Kind of ironic too, being there when one of the owners drove by and told us the news. Dammit!
just when i was really getting into riding Webb. I will keep in touch to see how the situation evolves there and try to get at least one more day of riding in

i was hoping tommy was making it up but sounds like art justified the owners words of warning. that sucks big time. oh well, im sure theres going to be other webbs around. good luck with the owners tommy.

Bummer! Just got to go there for the first time a couple weeks ago. I hope something works out, as I'd like to go back some time.

 

that really sucks. it may get burned over in the near future anyway if that fire in marshall doesn't get under control.

oh well, on to more secret places...

 

If the concern is mostly over motorized use, why close it down entirely? If the cops are getting involved, why not use them to keep the motos out, and let the rest of us keep riding? This blows, I go to school in Claremont, and don't have a car out there, so it's a really easy place for me to get to, and get some runs in. With it gone there's no good riding (that I'm aware of, if anyone knows anything else PLEASE let me know) within riding distance of school.

 

Does this mean we can say WEB CANYON now? Or is it the trail formerly known as SSDH

 

Great now it's on fire, we need to create a bucket brigade to gain friendship with the locals.

 

Officially shut down when it was never officially open.
Just like every other spot.

that sucks it's been well over a year since I've ridden there n was planning on making a trip there soon there goes that idea!
