And I'm not even talking about some of the members!

There is an incredible waste of space at the top and bottom of each message board, which ends up occupying about 50% of the useable screen space.

For example, there are FOUR info bars at the top stating which message board it is... "website discussion". A little redundant don't you think?

Same with the bottom, with a little re-organizaing you could use 50% less space for the "display options" section.

And what's with all the stickies? I've noticed that most of the stickies would be better served in the FAQ section. Many other stickies are old and irrelevant. If a topic is pertinent it will stay within view based on activity alone.

I think many of the rules can be enforced by conditioning instead of stickies. The mods should take liberties to move, delete or lock a thread for whatever reason and that will have a greater impact than just sticky-ing the rule at the top of the message board.

All excellent points. This should be a sticky.

eliminating cats from the forums would get rid of 14% more wasted space. not to mention the smell.

I agree the stickies take up space but then I never look much beyond the front page current topics.

Problem with putting them in the FAQ is, 90% or more of readers are too lazy and/or too ambivalent to ever look there before posting.

Mod censorship is not the answer either because it pisses people off. What needs to happen is for people to start being respectful and posting constructively rather than trolling to stir things up, posting trash and generally being disrespectful and argumentative with other members. That's caused a lot more people to leave than the censoring.

Quite a few website improvements are in-the-works!
I am not in a position to say what they are...
Rest assured, they ARE on the way!

Rather than having this turn into a 10 page discussion, it may be best to just "sit-tight" until George is ready to unveil his changes!
    Thanks for posting Dusty!

my biggest gripe is when people quote entire posts that include every picture the OP has posted... talk about waste of space..
