tried riding saturday, i found out i can't really ride too much looks like i'll be taking at least a week off... i still have the mammoth trip in 2 weeks too #-o
Glad to hear your dad's doing much better ... you just never know, he may climb back on a bike later... Sorry to hear about the unemployment... I know how that is. You'd think at 65 I shouldn't be worried about jobs anymore, but with the real estate market in the toilet right now, I'm having to look for work as well. Luckily, I at least have Medicare... for what little that covers, at least it's something. Keep thinking positive thought (seriously) and something will turn up. Sorry to hear about the finger, Nam. That sucks. I broke mine a little over 3 weeks ago and it's still a bit swollen and sore after taking the banage cast off. At least I can grip a handle bar (left hand pinkie), but it does take a while to heal...darn!
well kinda late but i get surgery monday, there gonna do a acl reconstruction, pcl reconstruction and meniscous repair and remvoe any other debri, im kinda nervous, there putting me under and ive never done that. thats mostly why im nervous

Might as well keep me on the list permanently.. haha right now theres something up with my shoulder and still having problems with my heel. :bang: I think Oaks did some permanent damage to the heel, I'll get it checked out eventually. Hope everyone else heals up soon! we need to do another pushakona or similar ride...
I shouldn't be on the list for too much longer. I am feeling lots better and should be back on the bike in two more weeks.
The bain of oldness.... the Back! Yes, grasshoppers, getting old is a bitch!!!! A couple of days after our SD Fire victims Ride, I bent over to pick up something and the back froze .... no, that's not quite right. I bent over to pick up something and the pain was so great it foze me. I could hardly straighten up. I thought, Oh no... not now! But then the pain went away and the back felt semi-OK. A couple of days later, I went out for lunch and rode the San Clemente single tracks and kept feeling little twinges during the ride... but nothing too bad... until later that day, I couldn't straighten up... the people at work thought I was trying out for the role of The Hunchback of Notre Damne! Went to the chiropractor and had an adjustment that could be heard three counties over. Felt better for about 30 minutes. Then wham-o, frozen back. Luckily for me, the weekend has been a non-riding weekend with Christmas decorations and other chores to do & the back is slowly healing... little by little... Let me repeat: Getting old is a bitch!
Cast was removed on Thurs:bang: but still won't be able to ride for 3-4 months....I don't get to start PT til atleast mid Jan...
I fell off my bike and landed on my left arm last weekend - stung a bit but hey it feels as good as new. Got almost 100% range of movement now too
LOL now you know how i felt that day i rode with you Gregg...just recently has my back felt better on extended climbs...but now my right knee im feeling a little weird feeling skateboarding has taken it's toll on my old knees
Perhaps we should take a poll as to what doesn't hurt. I'm guessing it'd be a short list.... I agree, getting old sucks!
My back is about 95%. Rode at Fontana, was a little sore and stiff. The next day I had some cramping issues but I think I'm out of the woods. Gonna ride the loop tomorrow if the rain holds.
I havnt been out in a while. It seems like everytime I go out and ride some trails, I always come back with some sort of new injury. Its not so much the falling that I hate, but the recovery takes forever!!
Wow, lots of injuries out there... Hope all of your holding up well. Broke the collarbone on the Push-a-Kona ride. 1 month as of yesterday. Follow-up x-rays tomorrow morning to see how things are going in there. Feels good, doesn't hurt too much, BUT not being able to ride is making me lose my mind--mental anguish. So, for all of those on the mend, at least it's not Spring or Summer. You could be missing out on a lot more riding. Kind of messes up the snow season possibilties, but hang in there and we'll see you out there when you're better. Cheers,
