I'm having surgery on my thumb at 1pm today...having my thumb(open scaffoid union) pinned...I will be off my bike for the rest of '07....3-6 months heal time...which I'm hoping will decrease...I'll be flying a lot sooner than riding though
Sorry to hear that, grasshopper.... Hang in there...heal quickly... and keep up to date on the Tribe's forums... and it will be time to ride before you know it. BTW: Have you been licensed yet for that helicopter? :bang: OMR
I have my Helicopter PPL and once healed I will be charging for my Instrument and CPL...while I'm not flying I'm working on getting all my ground work out of the way....
I'll roll with you homie, Us one-armed ridazz gotta stick togetha, dig As for my issues: Arm is doing ok. Most of it is contantly feeling like it is asleep (like when you sit on your leg and it goes numb) but with pins and needles here and there. OOne of the two muscles in my triceps is working. Wrist function is getting better. Still not sure about shoulder (deltoid) Knee is healing up ok. The PCL has re-attached and the swelling has gone down. Still have to wear a brace for the knee but I might be able to stop wearing the wrist brace for riding Cracked ribs are healed Smoking: Still waiting on the insurance to approve my perscription.
update I'm doing great. I still have a little neck pain when I turn my neck all the way from one side or the other. However, the knee has got me perplexed, I have quite a bit of fluid on it, but I don't think I noticed it before because it was so swollen. And it's not the knew itself, but the leg right above the knee, so I'm not getting the typical knee pains which is a good thing. I think it will just take some time for the swelling and the fluid to disapate. How you do'N? ~c
Good to hear everything healing up.Talk to Hooiserdaddy about fluid on the knee... his seems to be slowly going down as well with little or no pain. My finger (dislocation) is slowly getting better.. I can almost completely grip the handlebars now with my left hand... it's a b*tch getting old! OMR
My index finger is constantly sore and it is interfering with my braking. I gotta stop using the mouse scroll wheel while on STR!
I forgot to mention that I got a touch of the PO from Monday's O'Neil ride. Right on the back of my right shoulder, a big spot. Looks narly too, I must have back into something, luckily I didn't get it any where else. Anyone else get any PO?
I was worried about my last digger. In the Jungle at the downed tree, I thought I was unclipped went to put my foot down and feel into the bushes along the side of the trail. I have been waiting patiently for PO to appear.....Maybe I'm part of the 15% that don't seem to be bothered...How long does it take to appear? I'm still worried.
Usually within 24 hours or sooner... you'll notice a slight burning/itching sensation and small red bumps appearing... which only get worse with time unless treated. Sounds like you are right though, you may be one of the lucky ones that don't get it very easily (I'm one too)... BTW Traci, they say those people are "special people " destined to have many cool biking adventures & meeting many interesting people... like the guy that pucnhes magicians... 8-[ OMR
Traci, when I get it, it pretty much shows up in a day or two, some other people it takes up to a week to show up. I use Technu and calamine lotion and I'm good to go. Fortunately I don't usually get a bad break out, but I got a good spot this time. Keep your fingers crossed ~ c
for PO u can also try Zanfel (sp?). J-dirt turned me on to the stuff a few years back and works pretty well. not cheap however!!!
well i had my surgery on my thumb and will be in a cast for min. 3 months...my hip actually hurts worse right now b/c they took a bone graff out of my left hip...so i have pain on both sides of my body and can hardly walk or lay comfortably....totally unexpected...back to the couch....lates
Sorry to hear that....but now you know what a pain in the a$$ is. Seriously, I hope you feel better soon. I would say to txt me to help pass the time, but I'm thinking that might not be a great idea right now! (hopefully they didn't mess with your funny bone)
When you're ready... we'll be await'n along with the trails... hang in their... this doesn't lst forever!
Well on the toe issues... They are healing I think.. color is normal/ swelling only where they meet the foot but Damn they are still tender when walking... Riding they seem to be a bit better than walking so I will see you all on the trails this weekend.... If they can survive Utah they can hang in OC...
dad's better. liekly not getting back on a bike though. I'm all better and stuff. been swimming and running but riding is kinda out of the picture. why, you ask? well, as I'm unemployed and dont have medical insurance AND with the recent amount of injuries, I'm not about to risk it out on the trail....which really sucks as the seven has a spankin new nevegal on the front and finally has Ergon grips. sorry- i just dont want to pull a Burdman. thanks for asking, Gregg.
