Wanted to say hi and thank you to all the cool people that ride the Fullerton Loop, I'm new to biking and out of shape so I seem to be walking my bike a lot right now, most people always slow down to ask me if I'm ok, I feel bad that they do that because I'm always fine, Just tierd, lol...

You will get there soon enough! took me a few times before i could ride straight thru! just remember you are having fun and getting a workout in... plus walking the climbs still builds up leg strength as well! good luck on the future rides and pm me if ur ever interested in a ride!

Hey, good job just getting out there and doing it, no matter how much or little of the loop you're riding. One way or another, you're putting in 11+ miles, which is something to be proud of when you're getting back into shape.

Don't let the people asking if you're ok get you down. Just remember that they're taking time out of their ride to make sure you're ok and don't need help, and not looking down on you. You're both stoked to be out riding, just at different paces.

    Keep it up!

I'm having a blast, especially when I got rid of the clips!

These video clips from Turnbull are great! I know both places you've fallen pretty well and there's no shame falling here - I've fallen at the first spot a couple times but not at the second spot since I try to keep my speed up and stay right as much as possible.

The clips suck at first (especially when you fall), but after you ride more being in them starts to feel like second nature.

Pretty funny vid. :) Crashing tends to happen when you're tired, so I'd chalk that up to fatigue. When your fitness level goes up, you'll see that you'll crash less.

Also, I noticed you stalled on that short climb on your first climb. Experience will teach you to either go to downshift to a lower gear as you're climbing, or stand up to mash.

Those GoPros CAN take a beating! And you were super close to the top of that small hill on the first segment of the video - you'll make it next time (if you haven't already)

My problem is I go where I look, I see a hole, I go in it, I see a side of a cliff, I fall down it... I think I should start riding with my eye's closed, haha...

No shame in walking. We were all newbs and have been there once upon a time. Months from now you'll look back and see the progress you've made.

Like Timmay (jasonmason) mentioned, asking others if they are ok is if stopped or walking is what everyone should do. BTW, welcome to STR.

Hello, I'm also newbie from Anaheim. I have only ridden the Fullerton Loop a handfull of times with some walking involved, some days more than others. I try to ride it ever yweekend with the goal to be able to pedal from start to finish with minimal stops. Still working on that one. I would enjoy some company on a ride. PM me when your available, we'll set something up.

Victan & cateck welcome to STR. You could also check the calendar for the Thursday night and Sunday morning loop rides. Both of these are an easy pace, nobody gets left behind ride.

    Welcome and Be Smart....

As I say....Better to Walk Today and Ride Tomorrow...than Ride Today...for the Last Time.

And we all walked when we got started part of the growth process.
