That's exactly where I'm at. All the pain is in the soft tissue. Thanks for the info.

    Rider up

Did a quick loop up Rosewood and down Space Mountain with Epicriderat. 8 miles felt like 20 cardiowise. But that's okay. 8 days ago I was curled up in a ball crying like a little school boy thinking I won't be riding for 6 months. BTW those trails are awesome after the rains. :)

Holy heck...you're riding already? I take it you didn't need one of those vests to keep you from twisting your back?

Broken back bones SUCK. I shattered my L2 last Christmas in a surfing wipeout. Take good care of that injury, and as soon as the doc sez you can, start training your core muscles (back, obliques, abs), trust me, it will go a long way!!!!

    Heal QUICK!!!!!!!!

    Adendum..........
Hmmmm, just read that you're riding again. Be CAREFUL. Are you sure that's wise??? Once your back starts to go, it's easy to make things worse...

Mine was more of a compression than a fracture. Nothing actually broke. My spine is fine. It's just the soft tissue in my lower back that is still sore which is what I expected. The doctor told me I won't hurt anything continuing activity when I'm comfortable enough to do so. I think I got off lucky this time.

No. The diagnosis sounds a lot worse than it actually is. I'm going to a back doctor tomorrow for a follow up to the emergency visit. Hopefully his diagnosis is the same. I've felt no pain in my spine at any time and I'm progressively getting better every day.

    Update

Follow up with the back doc brings good news. Brought the x-rays in for my compressed vertebrae for her to look at and it turns out it's a previous injury. It already showed signs of healing so obviously didn't happen that day. So I guess the extent of my injury is just the soft tissue in my lower back.
