Turn out was awesome. Winning Cat 3 35-39 was 38 min and change...1 lap only.

Did anyone see what happened between the photographer and the specialized (?) rider? I turned around to see the pile-up and then when the rider got up he gave the photog a little shove back down to the ground. Just curious about some context...did the guy run out in front fo the rider? The camera man made his way back to the rider to apologize and they shook hands. All seemed to end well.

    See you at Fontana!

The tops pros were in the ballpark of 1:50 for 4 laps (27.5 min / lap!!)

I didn't catch all the times but the expert/Cat 1 30-34 race was won in about 1:34 for 3 laps (31.3 min / lap)

I wanna be on Team Bar Hoppers...you guys were everywhere. Especially the cheering section at the crest of the second to last climb. Your boy was in front of me getting all the hoots...then I rolled by in silence, sheesh!#-o

Looked like you guys were having a good time and worked hard for those podium shots! Props!

I think his name is Terry (he shoots the Fontana races for MBA). We were talking near the finish area when he saw someone he wanted a finish line shot of so he ran (without looking) across the course. I saw the riders and yelled but it was too late. The first rider missed but the Specialized guy nailed him.

Membership is tough...you gotta drink a lot of beer or whisky, eat pizza, ride the wheels off of bikes, handle lots of vulgarity, and not take life too seriously.

Well, that was an interesting race. Nothing like training in 70 degree weather and racing in 87 degree heat. Time to go back and revise the hydration strategy...

First off - huge props to Scott and all his team for putting on a terrific event. The course was extremely fast and heck of a lot of fun. Plus, In-N-Out afterwards was a welcome treat.

I ended up finishing at a 1:33. Nothing too spectacular for Cat 2 (30-34), but for the first race of the season, I'm OK with it. I have no idea where the time was in relation to others in the class, but I'm pretty sure it was somewhere close to the back.

Great event and great people, thats what mountain bike racing is all about. Was a little disappointed with my results (7th/33) until I seen my times comparisons to other riders. Feel much better today and looking forward to the next one. Finally got to meet my coach in person (Zippy). Wish I could have stayed till the end, but the heat got the best of my wife and her grandson so we left early. Congrats to all who suited up and endured. Finishing is winning in some situations and this may have been one of them.

Well the 1st race of the season is it the books. Happy with my result, 6th Cat 1 45-49. I've only begun my build phase and I haven't really above LT work yet, though I suspect many others are at the same point. That course was and anaerobic suffer fest. My class was tuff last year, it's brutal this year. The five that finished in front of me had the 1st, 3rd, 7th, 9th, and 11th fastest 3 lap times. Were do these old men find that speed:?:.

Thanks to Sho-air and TBB for putting on a great event; what a great turn out. Looking forward to the rest of the season.
