The Bonelli Race is also part of the So Cal State Series. More info plus the link to register for it is at www.teambigbear.com.

Support the US Cup series and the So Cal State Series. Many of the races count for both series (Bonelli, Fontana, Sage Brush, etc..)

As for routes in Bonelli, they typically post the race course on team big bear the week before the race.

If you just want to ride around Bonelli, when you pay the entrance fee ask for a park trail map. Then just hit any of the trails....

Bonelli, as with any other racing is great and loads of fun! So come on out and join us...

You're better off parking at the park and ride over the 57fwy,and riding into the park to park H.Q.and asking for a map there. They only charge to get into the park on weekends during the winter,(beginning of Nov.through March),and charge daily in the summer months.-Lloyd

XC trails that go around the lake or around the main park area (picnic area). It makes for a good XC race venue for racers and spectators, otherwise it's not much to write home about, but it is a very fun place to ride.

here's a rough trail map of the park

would it be comparable to the fullerton loop? although the fully probably wont host such big races but it sure is fun and has something in store for anyone.

A bit longer. If you hook up the trails right, you can get 16-18miles out of it.I ride there a lot because I live across the freeway, about 3/4 of a mile down the hill from the main park entrance.Makes for a quick ride anytime for me.Follow David's map. That's about the best one of the park.- Lloyd

the only part I was unclear in talking to tom about is coming back over the bridge to the finish...I was told to hit the fireroad that hugs the base of the hill...it dead ends and is pretty wet. I continued on an dthen cut across to the bike path at the bathrooms and back. This may have shorted the course an 1/8 to 1/4 mile. 7.1 miles, 1282 ft ascent.

Also if the entrance to the lake view loop uses the short technical straight down to the maint yard line(which I did not take)...my loop is longer with an extra climb or two but I imagine that is not the trail he had in mind as a lot of people would cry about it.

It is a fun loop. Lots of mud still and some bad enough it took up the whole trail and I had to get off and walk through the bushes.

Course starts at waypoint and goes backwards down to the 10 freeway from last year.

It's standard GPS deviation. Each unit is a little different. I can ride the same course, same route with two different Garmin units and get different elevation totals.

I sure hope there's a little better drainage for next weeks race. I wore baggies to the pre-ride Sunday just for the sacrafice of mud. Took almost two hours to get all the mud off the bike later on that afternoon.

BTW - Maxxis Crossmarks - not a good tire choice for muddy conditions. I think I spent more time sliding sideways as opposed to going forward.

I got 7.56 miles and 1168 ft elevation gain on my garmin. The loop posted on geoladders.com is Scott's loop, I beleive.
