Hello all. I am new to STR and I wanted to get some ideas about upgrades to the bike I recently purchased. I own a Giant XTC29er Composite 1 and I wondered if anyone had recommendations on upgrades.
    Thanks

How much did you pay for that bike? I didn't know anyone had them in stock yet.

That bike runs around $2500, I would upgrade the wheels first, then the bar and stem to maybe a thomson. The bars are Giant branded that is your preference on the bar. Most everything is Sram 2x10 so it is good to go. Here is a pic of it I took in my local shop a few weeks ago. Dan's Pics 050.jpg

Fullerton Bikes had the bike in stock. Good people to deal with. The bike in the picture is a 2 the one has been out for 3 or 4 weeks. Basically the same bike with a few upgrades.

Ride it until something breaks. When it does, upgrade it...

    That's a "1". I think yours is a "0" with the blue accents

How much does that bike weigh? Are the wheels easy to turn tubeless with a Stan's kit?

There's only 2 models of the Carbon HT 29er, that's a XTC 29er 1 in the picture and the upper model is the 0 which runs around $3900. They make the 1 and 2 in the aluminum versions

Bike less pedals out of the box was 24 pounds even.
I have changed the wheels to tubeless. I purchased 21 millimeter stans tape and stans value inserts ( similiar to the mavic crossmax type). Had to change the tires, I could not get the stock Maxxis tire to work. The change took about 35 minutes. Very easy with the specialized 2bliss tires, a compressor and I use an adaptor that mavic provides with the crossmax wheels that allows more air volume thru the stem for quick inflation.

That was my bad, it is a 0. I have an Anthem SL0 and I thought with the spec on this bike Giant had left room in the lineup for a 0. Sorry about that!!!

That is one great looking bike, but for the money Giant could at least but some actual name brand parts on this model instead of house brand components. I am really surprised it is not an full XO or XX equiped bike.
