As mentioned yesterday, the site loads fine in Chrome for me. I just checked it again this morning (OS X 10.6.4, Rev 5.0.375.86 of Chrome).

    Thanks for the input, shud.

I noted that it's working for you, which is what prompted me to consider it could be an issue on my end. Not sure what that issue could be, though, as the site previously loaded fine in Chrome and nothing on my end has changed. My experience is apparently not unique. I know of at least one other having the same issue, and while not exactly an epidemic, it's really annoying considering my preference for Chrome and the inconvenience of having to launch Firefox to view this one particular site.

As I mentioned, I'm on a Windows machine running XP, and the site won't load in Chrome as of 5 minutes ago.

^^ Hey Dell -- Cool (or not cool, as the case may be...). What rev of Chrome are you running on your Win box? Maybe that's something to look at?... :?:

Running rev. 5.0.375.99, which the About says is up to date. Is there a way to try another version to see if I can get the site to load?

Thanks for the ideas, good to know my woes are not going completely unheard.

I'll try and load Chrome on my virtualized Windows and see what happens.

Hey George, can you work on peace in the Middle East for us while you're at it?
You're getting everything else fixed, so I figure as long as you're on a roll...

Dell -- Yep, that's the most recent Chrome. Hm. Not a Win guy, so can't help much beyond this point. I am replying using Opera 10.60, btw (just for fun... and to see if it works).

Good news and bad news. Good news is that I installed Chrome on my virtualized XP and it's your same version (5.0.375.99) and STR loads fine. Bad news is that STR loads fine on it so I'm having trouble replicating the load issue. My best guess is that STR may be blocked in your chrome settings somehow?

Maybe try going into Chrome's settings and resetting them to defaults (options -> under the hood -> reset to defaults).

Thanks for the effort, George. Sorry to hear it works for you ;) Unfortunately resetting to defaults had no effect at my end.

What I did find was sort of interesting though. As I mentioned earlier, socaltrailriders.org hangs on a blank white screen, and socaltrailriders.org/forum/ loads the header and a blank brown screen, then hangs. However, if I cut and paste an actual thread page (e.g. http://www.socaltrailriders.org/forum/website-discussion/52003-upgrade-discussion.html), the page loads fine and I can then navigate through the site normally (?!) The homepage still hangs before opening, though.

Does this behavior sound like anything you've heard of before? I can live with it, but it's really annoying.

Guess I could set my STR bookmark to open on the discussion thread

Read some stuff about chrome not liking the WYSIWYG editors in vBulletin. Try this...

    Go here: http://www.socaltrailriders.org/forum/profile.php?do=editoptions
Under Miscellaneous Options -> Message Editor Interface try Basic Editor or maybe even Standard Editor

You may have to set these options in firefox first and then see if if made the Chrome experience any easier.

Chrome/STR runs fine on my mac.
However the photo albums are FUBAR like you said.
At least I can upload to it now. The layout is all screwy though.

not sure if you are aware of the header image, but it is too small for the current width setup for the site, which is adaptable to the computers screen size...

Thanks for remembering to click here first! :)

I'll most likely add the banner back tonight. Till then feel free to click on this JensonUSA link. It has the STR tracking info on it.

Safari not loading (cause I'm an Idiot)

Well call me an idiot. The whole reason I could not load the website had to do with my Itego Anti-Virus software. I recently upgraded it to the newest version and it somehow blocked me from accessing this site. You wouldn't believe the steps I have tried in order to find out it was something so simple. Good to be able to read what is going on again.:)

George, I can't load photos into my photo album. I got 2 pictures in there so far and I can't add any more. The photo looks huge and it covers any options or buttons. I don't know if you can see it properly in my photo album, but it's called Whistler 2010.

Photos on the "Groups" home pages

I tried with IE8, FF and Chrome but it seems with any of the "Group" home pages that have photos the pics are scattered, overlap and somewhat hide the links to the discussions. All the links can be seen if you look for them and the pages with no pics show up clean.
