BTW . . . we now have an upcoming events box on the homepage. Eventually I'll change the icon next to the title.

Heads up - the change to attachment thumbnail size made the frames around albums too big. I'll see if there's a way to modify one without messing up the other.

One of the problems people have is the fact the new site has a ZOMBIE-LIKE feel (cold, dead, lifeless).

    (recent private message):
"I'm not digging the new format but I'll either have to get used to it or just fade away like it seems so many others have."

    Homepage Gripes:
    Recent Threads
-The avatars waste space. No real benefit.
-Thread started by also wastes space... No real benefit.
-Move "1minute ago by LBmtb" to same line as title... Remove avatar.
Will save plenty of Homepage space

    My Recent Posts
While I do like the Homepage Classified, viewing MY most recent posts is of more importance to me!
    Any way to have both?

    Pictures
STR is all about Brotherhood, Community and Friendship
Pictures go a LONG WAY in conveying that message!
Shows people what they are missing (by not participating)
Great way to relive "STR" memories

    Articles Menu
-Not sure what "YOU" are going to use it for
    -Important Announcements?
-You "could" remove it.. Use the space for other things (pics, my posts, classifieds)

    News and Such
Not really needed. Takes up space.
    1. You could remove it (gain needed space for calendar section)
    2. Reduce the size of the area (takes up bottom third of the Homepage)
    3. You could add a "News" category to the header (would save Homepage space)

    Posting Guidelines:
Rather than wasting space on the Homepage, why not move it to the bottom of the page.
(Contact Us, Posting Guidelines, Sitemap, Top)

All Times GMT-7. The time is now 11:18am
Not sure it is necessary on the Homepage (most live in Socal)
By removing it, you would gain an extra line of space!

Georgie- Take a break. Enjoy the 4th of July.
You live a mile from the beach (bikes, beer, bikini watching)
Go have a few hours of fun!

I never thought about the "massaging and tweak(ing)" aspect before, but it makes sense. As an Admin on a new site, i'm beginning to learn a bit about what it takes to make a site like STR work. If i've never said so before, I much respect and appreciate your efforts.

The virus thing sucked for a lot of people, no doubt (a friend of mine got hit hard the first time she visited this site). It's just part of the darkside of the internet, I suppose. Good that it's been eradicated.

    NO! Bring her back! (j/k)

Not that George needs any defense, but I need to chime in. Perhaps there were a few features that were better before. Perhaps there are a few features are better now.

But there are two things for sure:
    1. STR is MUCH better now than it was when it was infecting unprotected users.
    2. ANY change is sure to evoke complaints from someone.

Maintaining a site such as STR is an ongoing job, and an evolutionary process, exactly like it was before, and it takes a LOT of time.

Gonna take some time to get used to, but not bad at all! I have some minor questions/comments:

    1) Is there a setting that will take you to the last post you have read when clicking on the link to one of the most recent threads on the homepage? Am I missing that setting somewhere? If not, it would be nice to be able to do that again (like we used to) and not either go to the very beginning and scroll down or click on that arrow and go to the last post and have to scroll up! I LOVED that it used to remember our place in a thread on the homepage (and one of the reasons it made this forum better than others)! Dunno if this is even possible but: it would be AWESOME to do that with ALL threads, hehe that may be wishful thinking though...

2)We used to have a link to "View More" Recent Threads after the initial homepage list which was great so we could see all the threads since our last visit, regardless of forum (or the forums we wanted to see). That would be great to have again so we don't have to go through each forum individually after looking at the homepage.

    3) This might be a little nit-picky but in the Recent Threads List, would it be possible to make the name of the person who posted last more prevalent than the person who started the thread so we have an easier way to keep track if we already read that recent post or not?

    4) I haven't gotten a PM yet so please disregard this if it already does this but hopefully the Notifications on the Homepage lights up, bolds, or turn color when you have some so you don't go a few days without realizing you have a PM sitting in your inbox! Sorry if this is already taken care of!

    5) You've already addressed the inability to have RSVPs with this new version right now. So just a quick question, is it just flat-out impossible or is it possible but will take some work to get them back? i.e. Should we be expecting them in the future or just learn to live without them?

THANK YOU!!! I'll probably have more little suggestions here and there if you don't mind. I am fully aware of not being able to make everyone happy and I REALLY appreciate you taking the time to squash that malicious code!!! Just hoping I can help mold this hot chick a little bit! ;-) THANKS!

Good points Tara. Is it possible to get our Ride Reports posted with a date they were uploaded? I can't tell when something was posted. Except for the 6 days ago or 9 days ago or whatever. I suppose it could go to 297 1/2 days ago.

The little blue icon with the arrows next to the name of the person who last posted. Looks like: [IMG]
Try the "What's New?" tab up top.

I'll keep that in mind next time I work on that part. Thanks.

Not sure what it does yet on the homepage but I'll keep an eye out. I know it'll still give you a pop up on the forums if you have a new message.

Is possible. Will get that back soon.

Wow, thanks for your quick reply! Doesn't the blue arrow just take you to the very last post in the thread? Clicking on the thread title in the old homepage would take us to the last post we (user specific) last read rather than the last post made in each thread. Just wondering if that is still possible?

THANKS for your hard work!!! =)

P.S. The "What's New" section is AWESOME!!!! Thanks for pointing it out!

Agreed..........some of the pics in my photo albums are oversized, some are zoomed in so much they are just blury, and some are not under some of the other pics.

RSVP's are back now. They probably won't be available for existing events but you may be able to edit them and add it on. For new events, make sure the option is checked to allow RSVP's.
