So, I put together a little slideshow vid of last weekend's cyclocross action at Griffith Park, when you have some time to spare. The "lower" classes are first, pro's last.

Well, sorry about that. I couldn't get it to embed, but if you jump to the link you can see it.

Good work, 53-12!! I raced Sunday; Cat 4. There were plenty of crashes especially right before the double wall. I felt this course to be the hardest of the whole series thus far (loose terrain??). I had a blast.

I keep hearing about a fight, but never saw it.

That seemed to be the area of the course that took the most people down. There was a lot of loose stuff under those oak trees that had riders' wheels sliding out.

Man, I gotta actually meet some of you.
I was there racing on Sunday and DFL'd the CX4 and 35+ 3/4.
Wearing my DFL jersey of course!
It was easily the hardest course of the four I've done this year.

If anyone wants to see some CX races, there are two different ones in Long Beach this weekend.

    Hey Rumpled!
I think we raced a month or so back at the race in chino that was like 105 degrees... at least I rode until I decided to eject my stomach's contents...

I was there both days this weekend and was sportin the black BEER kits... had a bro in town from norcal rockin the new ones too...

was alot of fun and some awesome racing to check out. I brought my MTB the second day as the first had some pretty sketch DH portions that were alot faster with some travel and 2.2's

Chino was only about 95 - Irvine lake was 103!

Is that the I Beer LA?

I'm pretty easy to find, my user name is my truck's license plate - and I finish last.

Awesome vid! I'll try and find the pics of the ensuing fight (if you can call it that) that my buddy found....

rumpled: our kits just say beer... we're a nor cal club but I moved down here about 6 months ago, so there's not that many of us here usually just me. I'll bring extras next race and look for the plate!

Wow, looking at those photos and video are interesting. A normal full turn collision turns into CX rage and then a spectator jumps in?

    - I wonder if the organizers banned the guy who started it. I've been run into by guys falling down after crashing, bumped hard, I've had MTB bars rammed in my back and gut and guys running on top of me and my wheels after crashing. Oh well. Its a race. Things get tight out there. Its a risk we all take.

    - In regards to the beer jerseys, yeah, I remember seeing it. Cool jersey.

Long Beach next week! See you guys out there. I ride a green Kona Jake the Snake and wear a black helmet; Cat 4.

yes he was kicked out of the race. his name is george barthel. he rides for helen's. the racer he attacked, was told to keep going in the race. but he couldnt because his rear wheel was bent from when he and his bike were thrown down to the ground. the specator was the victim's brother. and it was sat. during the UCI race.

I don't know either guy, but looking at the way the second guy dove inside him and bumped him out, that was a douche bag move. It seems to happen pretty often in CX. It sucks to have people pulling shitty moves on you in a race, but I guess if we expect it then it isn't a big deal right?

I race for fun though... I don't have this whole "my life is on the line to beat this guy" attitude that doesn't seem to be present in MTB racing.
