Well qualifying results are up. Gwin is at the bottom due to a crash, and tracy hannah is out of commission and in the hospital. On the positive if your a Rachael Atherton fan, she took the top spot and is the front runner going in to sunday!

I like that the course is wide open - should be plenty of good camera coverage with the mountains for the backdrop. Looks like a crazy fast track for DH.

Yeah, this looks like a challenging one for gwin. But you never know. Rumor has it Gee tore his acl and he is still up there on the quali's. Plus Tracy Hannah on the injured list hurts my team too. Hope she has a speedy recovery and comes back stronger next year!

These pictures remind me of something. Isn't there a sport where people try to get crazy air and distance, riding their bikes off of ski jumps? Bikeflingen or something?

holy balls that was a great race. gwinny getting shut down by minaar making you think that the overall is up for grabs, but then Gee, McDonald and Bryceland come down and put that to rest. track looked kinda blah, but it really made for some good racing, so I can't complain.

Also, the Nick Beer frontflip. ouch...

I just found out that I missed Olympic table tennis this morning because I watched this instead. There's a competitor from San Jose, Ca (hometown!) that I wanted to see.

    sigh . . .

After looking at a couple of these videos (esp. the T.Hannah walk-down) and, listening to Warner & Brentjens during the final - that was one STEEP course. Can't find the exact # but I think Warner said it drops about 1800'. Some nasty stuff there.

Thanks! I was looking for that! :D

Great race to watch. Just finished watching the women's race, which was surprisingly good. The guys will surely kick it up a few notches though and make it awesome.

Steve Smith pedaling in the air off the huge jump!

Damn! My man Loic Bruni going down in that corner. Is that the one that Gwin went down on too?
