Turnbull Group Ride, April 11th!

NOT trying to RAIN on your RIDE.....

 

i knew i saw something there in a recent vid. thanks for verifying. i might show up with my "big bike" but it depends on a birthday party. ill keep an eye out for you guys.

 

I'm about 6 min from Turnbull and still hasn't starting raining here yet... so keep your fingers crossed!

 

Just got back from TBC and it's a GREAT day!!!

News reports say the bulk of the system is swinging to the south and that we may get a little bit of rain, but it will clear up by tonight and tomorrow will be partly cloudy.

I get the feeling we are going to have an awesome day tomorrow.

Question: Who wants to meet at Orangegrove at 8-8:30 and ride over the hill to meet the main group before the 9:30 start???

That's my plan.

 

I will be there at 8am with my friend Ruy. We will go up china wall, down on rattle, up elevator, up to state college loop, down on elevator up the fire road, down on A-trail and meet the rest of the gang at 9:30 on beverly. Wanna join? Bring the chameleon!

 

what are the trailhead directions from irvine? or give me an address... anyone know how crappy the traffic is on saturdays to turnbull?

 

ORB, yer crazy (lol, in a good way). I really don't want to go all out like you will as I want to save some energy for riding with the group. And I'm having too much fun with the Stumpy right now to change up. Besides, I changed the Chameleon to a 1x8 (blasphemy!!!) for my buddy and it's got a few kinks to work to out still. But I might see you there at the trailhead and will ride up with you guys if I do. (If I'm not, please don't wait up, OK?)

Besides, I'd like to get down to the meeting place a little early and meet folks.

Just a Another Friendly Reminder

Like David said, we're (all 40+ of us!!!) will be parking RIGHT IN FRONT of people's homes... It's not like Aliso where it's the sides of people's homes but right out front. I know if I was out late on a Friday night and a WHOLE BUNCH of a certain user group woke me up early on a Saturday morning I'd be pretty pissed and remember that if/when I was asked how I felt about that user group's continued use of the trails at Turnbull Canyon.

Please, please PLEASE remember to be super courteous and cognizant that people may be trying to sleep when waiting for everyone to arrive! I hope this post doesn't come off as preachy, I just love Turnbull and being able to continue to mountain bike there is VERY important to me! Let's show everyone how awesome mountain bikers, even in large numbers, are!
