Turnbull Canyon Wednesday Ride - come get your weekday fix

Attention all local riders, lets get our ride on.

(SGV) Hacienda Heights, Diamond Bar, La Puente, Rowland Heights, Whittier riders represent!

We can discuss the route at the start of this ride.

This ride is beginner friendly and can run at a social pace.

Meet near the fireroad gate (near Beverly canyon entrance) between 5:45 and 6:00 pm to start riding at 6:15 ish

6pm should give about 2.5 to 2.8 hours total ride time without artificial lighting.

Turnbull has so many choices, this (Map) should help plan out the route. I used to use this map all the time but have no need for it now as it's all in my head now.

it's 5:12 and im still at work by the time i get out of here it will be 5:30-6pm! Im in burbank i looked at the directions and it says 1HR 42 mins in traffic from burbank to get there! no traffic is 43 mins! Im screwed! have fun guys! Maybe next time!

Traffic was HORRENDOUS coming from LA today!!! Hopefully it was better coming from oc. Hope it didnt affect your guys' ride!

 

Wow, great ride today for sure. We had a good turn out that consisted of Hat Trick, Grandpa, Gabriel ZinK, 213 Madness, Eddie (non STR member newbie), Bobby (STR user name eludes me), Eruizela (thats me) and another rider which I cannot remember his name at this time.

Our ride consisted of hitting the fireroad up from the gate (from the Beverly side) then hooking a right to meet up at the Y and choosing Rattlesnake up. We then went north and did the 7th Ave loop to the water tower. We checked out the great view and rested for a bit. From the water tower, we then proceeded down the winding single track that connects to the fire road that connects to the A side single track heaven.

213Madness and Eddie where having a difficult times on the climbs but ended up finishing in style and with a smile after the sweet downhill payoffs.

No pictures where taken since I forgot my camera. Its awesome that we finished with before it got dark.

I will post another ride next week since we had such a blast! Thanks to everyone that showed up.

 

Erwin, Thanks for posting this ride. I had a good time. I hope this will become a regular weekly ride. Turnbull has many fun trails
