This morning we rode El Moro, the route was down Ticketron, up Deer Canyon, out Bommer to El Moro Ridge to the Lower Moro Campground where the kids played around on some little rollers then out El Moro Ridge to Missing Link/Fenceline and out to Ridge Park.

My cousin, Danielle, has just started mountain biking and she rode with us this morning. I was told by my family not to kill her. I tried not to but she still had one little crash.

We also saw two rattlesnakes on the way out.

So this morning, I decided to rouse my 9 year old boy and 8 year old girl for a real mountain bike ride. I didn't want to kill them, but I also wanted to give them a taste of a real adventure ride.

Here we are at the beginning of the ride, crossing Crown Valley Parkway to get to the Tijeras Creek trailhead.

Checking out the swamp at Waterworks:

The first stream crossing at Oso. The first of maybe 4 stream crossings. The kids had a great time being in the outdoors. Throwing rocks into the water was their favorite!

Posing at yet another stream crossing.

Finally got in the picture at yes, another stream crossing.

Hike a bike going through the jungle.

All told, we did about 10.5 miles. It was fun just spending time with my kids and watching them reach inside and gut it out. Instead of watching TV or playing some video games, they got to taste the outdoors and find out what they're capable of. I was a proud dad when we got home.

Last nights ride was really good. We rode Bommer to Rattlesnake out to the big rock and Conner made it down it(his first time) then we rode back to Bommer and out to Missing Link and came back on Missing Link and Fenceline.
