Probably low visibility and possible lightning strikes for the airplanes/helicopters.

I'm disappointed by the coverage today, but I'm sure they did the best they could.

Surprising stage with Cancellara abandoning due to health and Astana allowing the Mancebo grupetto a 2 min. time gap.

+1 on poor coverage today but I understand...still with the weather outlook very on the iffy side I'm wondering what kind of coverage Vs is going to be able to provide. I hope it gets better.

It was kind of cool to see a guy lead for so long and end up with the win, he looked like he was working HARD towards the end. Truly impressive to watch a guy motor like that after he rode for 90 some miles!

    I hadn't heard about Cancerlara (sp?) that's a bummer.

Anyone see what time fresh coverage starts tomorrow? 3pm again?

Some decent racing today. It was cool to see an American team win. It'd be great to see a US team/rider win it.

Not a fan of Lance's over use of yellow in his kit...

Hmm, stolen bikes.. Wonder if that's what happened to Liquigas' team? During the prologue Ivan Basso was the only guy riding a TT bike. Everyone was on std roadies.

Yes, Liquigas had all of their bikes stolen during the Tour Down Under.

What the hell is going on? All the pro's getting their bikes ripped off, it's not like they're worth very much and I'm sure they have a state of the art alarm system.

Is anybody interested in carpooling from the Laguna Beach area up to LA and/or down to San Diego for stages 7 & 8 ? It would be cool if we could work a ride into it too, either before or after the stage.

I can drive and have room on the roof for 3 bikes. Who's in!?

As much as I think of Michael Ball being an arse I am sure happy to see Rock Racing get a stage. Adds some credability to USA racing. Even though we have a number of top racers in the world the Europeans still don't think much of us or our riders. Francisco Mancebo owned it today and got a well deserved victory.

That's what I was getting at. You've got over a 100 grand in bikes out in a trailer with a five dollar lock. Pure genius!

Hey, at least the kits aren't quite as over-the-top as last year, huh?!?!? (I was a fan of the green and black as you may recall...)

But, honestly, I watched Mancebo blinking and wincing through all that rain (for hours and hours by himself), then right at the end Vincenzo Nibali from Liquigas bridged the gap with what looked like really fresh legs. I thought Francisco was going down. Really happy for him that he was able to stay with and take the Stage and the yellow.

I was disappointed that the chasers pulled back on the crit course. I was thinking WTF? Now on Versus they said the race clock was stopped when the riders entered the course but not everyone got the message on radios.

I'm curious to see the Palomar stage. Some of my friends rode it this weekend; they said it was snowy and icy, a bit away from the top.

Pho, is this a job perk? You guys hiring???? ;)

If anyone is interested in some cool pics, Carson Blume has a few on his site, too (I love his photography and he seems like a pretty cool guy). http://pa.photoshelter.com/c/carsonblume/gallery-list
