top injuries

just so happen to come across a chart (link below) on top skate injuries so was wondering what are most common for mtb and our other passions.

According to a study recently released in the Journal of Wilderness and Evironmental Medicine, http://www.wemjournal.org/wmsonline...&issn=1080-6032&volume=019&issue=02&page=0091 snowboarding tops the list when it comes to outdoor recreational injuries, accounting for nearly 25% of all non-fatal injuries annually, followed by sledding (11 percent); hiking (6 percent); mountain biking, personal watercraft, water skiing or tubing (4 percent); fishing (3 percent) and swimming (2 percent).

This has some good info, but I think anyone riding for any length of time has experienced all of the top 5.

I was amused by the prevention of the AC injury:

let's see, i've had 1, 2, and 4. also throw in a broken shoulder blade.

 

1 and 5 for me plus broken shoulder blade, dislocated finger, concussion, broken ribs, chipped teeth and broken toe.

 

I can't believe ribs didn't get in there.

Had em all except AC.

 

I've had 'em all and then some. Some more than once, but I will do my best to ALWAYS be a mountain biker!:bang:
