I have no musical limits whatsoever. :)

There are no real "firsts" in heavy rock, as there were a number of groups doing similar things simultaneously. Never was a Blue Cheer fan, but love early Iron Butterfly, Amboy Dukes, Seeds, Love, etc.

There was a group of American GIs living in Germany in the 60s called The Monks who recorded a classic LP called "Black Time Monks"... pretty heavy for 1966.

It's amazing how much excellent rock music was released in USA that's virtually unknown by the majority of music fans. Check out "Fuzz, Acid, and Flowers (A Comprehensive Guide to American Garage, Psych, and Hippy Rock 1964-1975) by Vernon Joynson. The current edition is over 800 pages.

    Uh. . . . . . . . . . .NO! No offense, but NO! :-s

I might have missed it, but does anyone not remember a little band called RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE ??
One of my bands, but not the best. My list changes with my mood. With a few exceptions, all the bands named have their place in my library

Trouble is that video has killed the radio star, used to be some very talented musicians that also understood showmanship. Nowadays in the age of exploitation and commercialism performers are selected based solely to promote and image despite having nothing to say. As long as they can read the words from the page Pro-tools can take can of the voice (or lack of one). What tickles me is the really heartfelt and introspective lyrics that may come from the lips of a 19 year old knockout, but originate by the pen of a 46 year old "Co-writer". Last time I turned on the radio was the Adam Corrola Show, other than that I have no interest in having worthless talent repeat itself in "pay for Play" lists.

That sucks. I saw them once in London. They were an awsome live band.
