First of all I would like to thank everyone that helped me out last night and a special thanks to Chuck, Dino, Bryan and ARGAMA. I truly do appreciate all the work on your part.

Now as far as the crash goes, all I can say is I never saw it coming. I was just following Julia down the hill that dumps onto Euclid. We were moving along pretty good but definitely not out of control by any means. I remember dropping off the sidewalk and the next thing I know I am being put on a back board and loaded into the meat wagon for a trip to the hospital. My best guess is that I flatted the front tire on one of the RR ties and gravity took over from there.

So after a lot of x-rays and a CT scan there doesn't appear to me any major damage other than a slightly collapsed lung and some really sore ribs. I didn't even end up with a concussion although my head hurts a little today. I guess it could have been much worse.

The bike on the other hand seems to be suffering a little more from the crash although it is all repairable. The fork definitely took the brunt of the damage which really sucks because it was on loan to me until I got a my hands on squishy fork.

Anyway, thanks again everyone. Hopefully see ya all out there again in no time.

I rolled up to the crash a moment or two after it happened and saw him laying on the ground in pain. Not good. His buddys and STR folks were allready tending to him and calling 911. I stayed back and alerted other riders comming down the hill. After about 15 minutes or so it was a relief to see him get up and walk the rest of the way down on his own two feet. Glad to hear he didn't spend too much time at the hospial. Hope Todd has a speedy recovery.

I did not ride last night due to an 16 hour work day, but there's been A LOT of crashing on the loop. Todd, heal up and lets ride. To all of the people that took care of the situation, good on you! STR riders are the BEST!!!!

Dude, how many miles a year to you put on your truck while responding to medical emergencies? Does the IRS allow you to deduct this mileage?

what a story, man, heal up! crashes with injures better not be remembered or known during impacts.. I have been there many times and i like getting stories from friends on what happened during impacts.. haha.. cause if it was stored in my mind the whole vision of impact, id probably be like ricky bobby in that movie thinking im going fast. lol

I certainly hope so! That crash at Fontana was another one I didn't see coming and really killed my run. Hopefully 3 crashes in 3 rides takes care of my quota for the year!

Well I was feeling a little better yesterday so I decided to pick up the bike from Happy Gilmore to see what kind of shape my baby was in. I still need to pull things apart to get the full extent of damage but at first look this is what we have.

*front rigid 29er fork....... Totaled! (bent back to 0*offset and probably 1.5" to one side)
*seat post...................... Totaled (twisted head out of post)
*Saddle......................... Totaled (Ti rails bent badly)
*brake lever................... bent (already replaced by Chuck) thanks buddy!
*rear wheel.................... bent (probably need a new Flow hoop)

I need to get the fork out to check the straightness of the frame and lower cup of the headset but other than that it is all good.

I also want to give a big thanks to the guys at Fox for producing a great helmet. The Fox Flux I was wearing is toast but definitely did it's job. Without it I probably wouldn't be typing this today.

Hopefully I will have some pics of the damage later today and I get thing apart.

bummer todd. it takes talent to bend a fork. hope the frame is okay at least.

if you're feeling up to riding, and need something to ride while your bike gets fixed, you're welcome to borrow one of mine. should fit you close enough, and I'm not gonna use them for another month or so. just don't bend the fork ;)

I think it was actually the fact that I ran out of talent that the fork is bent....

There is a new fork already on the way and the only frame damage may be a slightly out of round lower head tube. I think that lower cup with more engagement would probably do the trick.

If the frame turns out to be toast I may take you up on your offer Bryan.
