    Fullerton Loop Conditions

Noticed alot of yes changes to no on the ride tonite. Sun is out . Have seen the trails tonite and they are in great condition. No puddles , actually very dry conditions on the trails here in Fullerton.

Im still in and will probably meet up with the group somewhere along the first half of the loop.

Thread merged with existing thread. Read prior posts. The tracks usually stay muddy even days after rains. Since it rained just hrs ago, I'd say it's probably muddy there. You can always skip the RR tracks/golf course section where the mud is the issue the most.

Hmm...Old and in the Way's one of the guys who helps maintain and plan the Fullerton trails...I would think he would know his trails well. :?:

Personally, I'd be surprised to see the trail dry after the heavy rains last night.

Anyone who has ridden the loop knows the tracks and golf course stays muddy longer than the other sections.

Trails were in great condition tonight. Did a lil x cred around the golf course up Bastanchury. Yes, a bit muddy in a few places, but easy to avoid.

Rode it tonight and it was GORGEOUS. At 5:30, about three hours after the rain stopped, the skies were blue and the sun was shining. The dirt was tacky, but not at all muddy.

I can't believe everybody backed out on the ride tonight, that was pretty weak. The trail conditions were perfect, only an occasional mud puddle here or there. The ground was dry and dust free. I rode the whole loop and didn't even get mud on my bike. Old and in the way stopped by the parking lot when we finished up.

People are so funny when they're saying it rained at their house and it must have rained at the loop, unless you're on the loop (read, on the trail) don't give out inaccurate information.

I work about three miles from the loop and this storm didn't bring much rain. The ground wasn't saturated so it dried out quickly.

I'm sure people will say "you shouldn't have ridden". We were there and you weren't, so tell me who's better to judge the conditions?

Yeah, the only reason i did not ride tonight even though i wanted to do so badly and was ready to head out at any second was because of the feedback i got regarding the conditions, i am still not familiar with how the fullerton loop reacts to the weather, oh well... lesson learned, next time follow my gut, lol... #-o

All I can say is when in doubt, go see for yourself. Don't take the junior meteorologists word for it!
Seems like this website is full of people that spend more time on their computer, and less time (if any) riding. It's sad, because it use to be different, we all use to know one another.

I too was suprised when I caught up to only 2-3 STR riders in the parking lot after their ride. With the trail in good condition I expected a full parking lot. Hopefully Roscoes had more of a showing. I had an advantage in that I inspected most of the trail during the work day.
I will be there sunday, just have to be home by 10:00

    Thanks Shu.

I just made the call as I saw it...I work about 3 miles away from the courthouse, and live 4 blocks from it. When I went home for lunch, it didn't look like the conditions would be rideable.

If anyone missed it due to my report, sorry. I wouldn't have called it off if I didn't think that was the case.
