LIVE OAK SUNDAY SHOP RIDE

Santa Ana Singletrack Tour

The plan is to start at the Live Oak shop, ride Trabuco Trail and down Yeager Mesa, and back to the shop where we started. We will be riding at a moderate pace and will be having lunch on Yeager Mesa to take in the wonder of the Santa Anas.

The total mileage is 17 miles from the shop and back and will climb 3500ft- with demanding steep and technical trails. This ride route is not recommended for novice riders.

THURSDAY RIDE NOTES

Directions to Black Star Gate:
From I-5 take Lake Forest Exit east for 4.5 miles. Make a right on Portola, a left on Glen Ranch, then left on El Toro Road. About a mile later El Toro Road turns into Santiago Canyon Road. Take Santiago Canyon Road about 5 miles north. Turn right on Silverado Canyon Road, then left on Black Star Canyon Road. Drive about one mile to the gate. Parking is free.

SATURDAY RIDE NOTES

Directions: Ride starts and ends at the end of Silverado Canyon Rd in Silverado, CA where it turns into Maple Springs Rd in the Cleveland National Forest. The gate is often locked, and there is limited parking outside the gate. If the gate is open, there is plenty more parking available. You will need a Forest Adventure Pass to park inside and around the gate area. If parking area is full, backtrack onto Silverado Canyon Rd and park anywhere that is safe and not a designated no parking area.
