​We're back on for the course pre-ride!

THIS WEEK'S RIDE 2/24/2012: Pre-ride the Enduro Stuff Mountain Challenge course in the Cleveland National Forest. Get a jump on your competition before the race!

Meet at the gate to the Main Divide just before Blue Jay Campground.

Arrive at 7:30AM, be ready to roll at 8AM SHARP! Ride lead: Neil.

Course is based at the Blue Jay Campground off Ortega Highway in the mountains above Lake Elsinore, CA.

This is a 25-mile loop with over 5000 feet of climbing, so come prepared! Bring plenty of food and water, and be sure you're physically up for such a demanding ride.

Bluejay Campground is approximately 25 miles east of the Junction of Interstate 5 in San Juan Capistrano and Rte 74 (the Ortega Highway). Note: other than a strip mall in San Juan there will be NO services available anywhere other than in the immediate vicinity of the freeway. At mile 22 you will make the left hand turn onto what is locally known as Long Canyon Rd. There will be signs (MTB RACE). Long Canyon is narrow, winding and very steep. When you arrive at the tee turn right onto another narrower, winding, and steep asphalt road. The entrance to Bluejay will be on the left. You do not have to stop at the entrance. Continue through the campground to lower Bluejay and follow the instructions on the signs.

THIS WEEK'S RIDE 3/10/2012: San Juan Trail.

Meet at the parking lot at the San Juan trailhead, ready to ride by 7:30AM. Ride lead: Neil.

Directions:From the I-5 in San Juan Capistrano take Ortega HWY (74) East for about 12 miles. Turn left on Camp Road. There is a sign for the Lazy R Ranch as well as a CDF Fire Station on the corner. Go down the road for about 1/2 mile until you reach a large dirt parking lot in the trees on your left. We'll see you there!

 

I'm a noob to socal (not a noob rider), would like to make the ride on 3/10, any chance of carpooling from the shop?

 

I'd like to make this ride.

What should I look for to find this group.

 

A big bald guy, most likely in Lycra(probably pink somewhere on it) ridding a really nice bike. LOL


Or look for the guy in either silver Nissan Titan or silver Nissan Armada.

 

Or the long haired guy covered in tattoos and reeking of patchouli.

 

And no matter how fast you are - those two guys ^^ will fly by you up the hill, smiling and saying hi while NOT out of breath...

Gotta get on a plane, so bummed to miss the ride.

This is the first race in the Enduro Stuff Cup OC Parks Tour mountain bike race series.
