Looks about like they are on a 2.8 mile equivalent of the Fullerton Loop :?:

    Woohoo!

I want to be impressed, but it's just not happening for me [-(

I highly recommend watching the crashes from the women's MTB race. There is one nice full on OTB.

The mens race didn't seem like much of a race. Just a highlight reel of Absalon owning everyone else on the course. Kinda lame, I wish they would have shown the fight for bronze the whole last lap. Gold and silver were already decided....

Also, commenting on the course, I think they did a pretty good job with what they had to work with. It wasn't super technical but I doubt anyone would want to ride a CX bike on it. Actually It seemed like it would be a pretty fun course to have in my back yard.

'bout as exciting as watching bread rise: boring as heck, but you know it's going to be good in the end...

I would have like to see a little bit of tech on the climbs, something where a FS would have been a bit helpful.

Also I would have liked to get some more close ups of the bikes. I love lookin' at the components, frame doing their work.

Sucks that they only showed only portions of the first lap and only the last lap of the leading rider.

I finally watched my Tivo'd channel 4 coverage of mtn biking.

What crap. On the women's race they went from 5 mins into the race,to commercials, to 5 minutes remaining in the race.

The men's coverage was *slightly* better with maybe 10 more mins of coverage.

The commentators didn't sound like they knew anything about riding.

....to think I was excited for 2 weeks for this event...what a letdown.

Yeah, the TV coverage might have lacked, but really even if you go online and watch the whole thing it isn't that exciting or even interesting. Just one guy blowing everyone away. They really needed some people who know about racing to do the camera work (i.e. show the interesting parts of the race, even if it is for third).

i'll tell you what though, the men's race looked pretty sick in 1080i on my beautiful flat panel lcd!!!!!

    hardtails rule the world!

  13. i thought it was pretty cool actually just to see the best riders from all around the world. The online coverage was alot better then the TV coverage. Still over all it was a cool course and turned out better than I thought it would!
