I don't get the fascination. Why pay 2-3 times as much for a device with so many limitations (no cam, no USB ports, no flash) when a netbook which costs 1/2 as much could do it all and then some. I guess I just don't get it. Congrats, regardless.
Other than being annoyed that I couldn't play with it out of the box, there's been no issues. You have to connect it to iTunes before you can first use it. Grrrr!!!
I've played with a bunch of netbooks. I was totally unimpressed. My opinion is that they're just mini laptops. I don't need a mini laptop and the iPad doesn't try to pass itself off as one. The unit isn't for everyone, but the beauty of having it INSTANTLY ON for most of the stuff I do simply defies explanation. I love the fact that the OS is totally out of the way and you can just use it. Perhaps I see more possibilities than limitations.

I'll admit, this thing looked a little half-baked in all the promo hype, but in person, using it, this freaking thing is slicker than anything electronic doodad I've ever seen. I'm gonna sell this one in a month and get the 3G model when it ships, plop skype or fring on there, & ditch my phone too. Oh bugger me, it's 9pm! This damn things had me transfixed for 7 hours???
The convenience is priceless. :bang: Screenshots are just like on the iPhone/iTouch. Press the HOME and OFF buttons. I'm doing the exact same thing. I couldn't hold out for the 3G to come out. I'm keeping my iPhone, though.
I do like SS hard drives and it's almost instant response times. Curious why you didn't wait another 30 days for the 3G model to release. That's the beauty of having options and choices. I tried netbooks as well, but they always seemed like just a flimsier cheaper pile of disposable underpowered hardware struggling to run the same os where the limitations of laptops were even more pronounced. This doesn't have any of those limitations. ...it has a whole new array of entirely different ones!:lol:
I suffer from EAS (Early Adopter Syndrome). Oh, I'm afflicted with impatience, too. I'll still get the 3G when it comes out. This WiFi will be for sale then.

There's no uploading pics directly to STR, but you can copy an image address and then paste it into a post. Sure. $650 with the case. You'll just have to wait 30 days to for me to give it to you.
