Me and Tim (aka Sicky T) hit the luge last Sat. . I had a blast! Conditions were the typical dry and powdery you have all come to expect. Id say the biggest need on the luge right now is to smooth out the brake ruts through the Mid section of the trail, there's still a lot of work to be done all over. like you said just waiting on the rain..

Just a head's up that you need Forest Service approval to legally work on the Luge or STT. I love your interest and would be happy to help you go through steps to get the approval you should have. And I also know that Jeff understands that dirt work needs to be done when the soil is damp or even wet, and working dry soil is worse than doing no work at all. Give me a call and I'll help in any way I can.

Keep it techy! Loose rocks are left there on purpose to slow down the Noobs. Haha.

Moved some rock slabs around today, made kind of a cool little stairs section. Theres enough room to go around and its not in the line of flow on the trail, so you can choose to let those cojones drop or not. If you guys ride them and don't like them i will take them back out no problem. Just trying to spruce things up a bit.

picture was taken slightly after dark, hard to see here

Not a fan of all the jumps.....seems as though you created dams to keep the water from flowing off the trail.

i will go up with a shovel and cut some troughs in the side of the hill to kick the water off the trail, thats the real issue, feel free to join me. By the way, i only made one small roller at the very top, not sure what your talking about "jumps" plural. Everything i have done to the trail was already pre-existing, i just cleaned up a few areas and did regular maintenance like fixing brake ruts.

I dont have a bike at the moment to check this out, Sounds as if tho- you Mod the whole place. I thought you were cleaning up a bit. Not that i dont appreciate your rake and shovel. By any chance, did you gut any of the terrain ?

However, the picture is where ? the very bottom or right before all the berms (at the bottom, pass the mini table top) ? I cant tell!

Not giving you a tough time, just trying to make sure i understand your "addition" to the Luge.

Rode it Sat. Not a fan of the additions either. It's already a fine trail.

I appreciate trailwork, and I've done some myself, but do you have USFS permission to change the character of the trail or are you merely free-lancing your vision upon the trail?

Looks great. Seems like it's reverting to it's original condition. Hopefully the natural jumps get put back too. Think some bears made them awhile back to play on but some loggers destroyed them.

    Sorry won't do any more.

I don't have USFS volunteer permission, only warrior society and Jim have permission, rangers do nothing. But it seems they are both busy at this time, not sure if Warrior society does any trail work at all, they fight for legal usage. So then, who works on the Luge? Every one rides it, but no one wants to hike up the trail with a pick, shovel, and rake and put in some time, whats up with that? . If you don't like the additions i will remove them ASAP no problem, i totally understand and ill kind of be done with the trail work for a while until I'm "legally approved".

^Don't you dare! You are part of nature. By undoing what you did you are destroying the natural environment even further. At least wait till I get a chance to ride it.

Not trying to make a big deal about it, I'd just rather ride natural terrain on the Luge.
My appreciation for giving back and doing trailwork.

Pez appreciate the trail work. Maybe Kioti can schedule a trail work day like in the past and with a big group we can work the whole trail in a day. I agree with you people not having the time do trail work. I have ran into Kioti doing trail work and have always felt guilty riding by him. I ride the Luge frequently and owe it some trail work.

Quick check on Strava and the Luge has been ridden 848 times year to date. That doesn't include people that don't use Strava so I'm sure it's way over a thousand. Hopefully we can get it primed after this rain. I'm ready to put some work in.
